The picture I posted on the last page is the copper spur. It's big. Granted I'm short 5'5" I would think you'd fit fine. The hubba hubba nx is also the same size and great tent. I almost got that one instead last month.

 

I made an affordable underquilt out of a larger poncho liner. Search YouTube for "PLUQ" and there are great demos for how to build one pretty cheap with some shock cordage. I got a chance to test mine out in 40 degree weather a few weekends ago and it worked great in conjunction with my military patrol bag (32 degree light bag). No cold back or wind issues.

I ended up buying the Sierra Designs backcountry bed duo. With the 20% off and my dividend it came out to $250 definitely not a cheap sleep system if you include two pads (which I already have) lol

 

I'm a big fan of wool for camping. A friend recommended these blankets from Harbor Freight. 80% wool, 20% polyester, 60 in. X 80 in. Only $11 each! (If you've ever ordered a 100% wool blanket you know they can be expensive.)

I got four and find them very useful, a huge value for that price.

 

hows the material feel? From the image on the link, it looks pretty itchy/scratchy.

 

Just wait until you sleep in it. So worth it! I love my single size one.

It's replacing a lot of older, bulkier gear we were getting tired of lugging around. Haven't made a direct comparison yet, but this definitely cuts down some weight and saves some space in the truck.

Hey fellas, im going on a 3-4 day hike after my finals next month and i want to know if there are other options with similar features to the 50-65L Osprey Atmos AG. I like the frame design, but if there are similar products i'd like to give them a look over as well before committing to anything

 

There are lighter options like the Exos or Stratos, but the Atmos is a really good, really comfortable pack.

 

Sort of camping related. I picked up a 10X10 Spike Tent about three years ago and had used it for a base camp for some week long bird hunting trips up in northern Maine in late Oct/early Nov. I had been using a Mr Buddy heater, but have been considering a small stove.

Was just at Cabelas (I don't buy much from there...just like to poke around and see what's new) and they had some Colorado Cylinder stoves in the bargain cave (display models but all boxed up like new). They had the largest models (Timberline) on the shelf, so I asked if they had more as that Timberline would be way more than I need. She brought out a fully boxed Mesa package (Stove, pipes, stove shelf, water tank, damper & stove grate) and it was reduced to $199 from $429. She says "hold on" and prints a new tag for $99 and then marks it purple for an additional 25% off for a total of $75. Too good to pass up.

Slight price difference but still an amazing deal!

We're kind of in the same boat. What little car camping gear we have is old and/or heavy. We have piles of backpacking gear but want some sturdier, more variety stuff for car camping. Your selection looks great!

 

Anybody here have experience with Hill People Gear products?
