Yeah, once I go 285's I'm definitely gonna need to regear.

Trade it in for the MT and stop complaining. Or spend your time bitching at Toyota. I"ll let you know if i have any issues with my 6-speed MT when it gets here in 2 weeks. Thanks to everybody bitching about it and 4 test drives with the Auto, I figured it would be worth it to buy the MT and have my truck shipped to my door.

Same here I usually get about 15-16.5 but I do not drive like grandpa. I have achieved 17 when I drive like a granny but I do roll in neutral specially on the hills or when I am approaching a light that I know will turn red. I coast to the light in neutral and when it turns green I am going about 15mph so I pop it in 2nd and I don't have to start from zero which I believe really helps. This method pisses a lot of dick heads that are racing to the light only to come to a complete stop, but by the time the light turns green I am already going 15mph so they bite the dust lol

So talked to my buddy who does diff gear installs he also has a Tacoma a 2015 he said that the problem isn't in the diff gearing he's kinda fooled around with his a bit so he strongly recommended stick to stock gears tell I end up with my final tire size which will be 35s he was shocked that the 3.90 had issues on freeways

With my V6, mt, in the rain and 50mph cross winds, I got down to 20 mpg average, 2/3 of the mileage at 65-70mph other third at 55-57 mph. Last week, same route home, no rain or high wind, just under 26 mpg average, using a calculator to figure with. 90% highway, 10% around town/home. I retire next week, but for now, I put 280 miles or more a week on the truck.

You sound like my 30 something friend. Yep, mileage in the rain and wind was around 20 mpg. :) Much better with no wind. I'll have to do a calc for my average since new now. Fill for that trip of 270 miles was 10.3 gals. Cheapo, regular gas, 87 octane.

When I do my 35s probably looking a 4.88s I think 5.13s might be a bit much but with all the stuff I'm adding to the truck 5.13s might be the way to go but i will have to decide once bumpers and skids and everything go on I'll see how much heavier the truck is on a scale down at the truck stop I'm betting with all the armor on it it's gonna rack up some weight

I live in the mountains, seems it's uphill in both directions. :) On Saturday, I had to go up a pass that was around 8,000', round trip I still hit almost 22 mpg, but later this week it has fallen to 21 mpg with city driving. I let my younger friend drive it after we finished our snow camp trip on Carson Pass, CA, he drove it harder than I do, winding the motor up a little more than I do. I still like the exhilaration of quick acceleration, still ride a dirtbike.
