My criteria was maximum speed, so I was willing to pay for performance.

This will help you decide: For 33" sized tires, in my case the 255/85/R16, I can put back 20 PSI in 1 minute, 5 seconds with the ARB twin. @Chux has reported that his ARB single does it in 2 minutes 10 seconds.

It all depends on what you want.

This is how I feel about airing up.

    aint-nobody-got-time_54c8aa80a2b924fe6ff070a0247830b3a6ad9cdc.jpg

LOL Sweet Brown! Someone should pay her to read a script...

Airing up your tires at the end of the trail?!? AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!

The fact is, I have to air up and I feel the need to do it as fast as possible.

Truth. I went single for size and price. It's not incredibly fast but reliable. When I come off the beach I'll use park air stations if available.

Hey, you are putting your ARB just about the same place as I am putting my Viair 400P. I've got a makeshift housing for mine to get sorted before I run the wire (I can get away with 10AWG with my woosy little pump) plus I'm sick of wires at the moment having run power from the battery all the way to the tailgate in the past couple of days.

Thanks for the great pictures - that was what I was thinking of as my routing and glad to see it should work out. Good idea on the ground location, I'll probably do the same.

I'm sure you figured this out, but the holes on top of the bedside cubbie are for the latching mechanism of the door. I'm only pointing this out so that when someone copies this and they go to put the door back on, they don't find out the hard way. Those latches are garbage anyway and bend easily.
I swear I think you mentioned it before, but have you thought of positively pressurizing your bed to keep the dust out? Seeing this video made me think of you:
    http://youtu.be/GXbsK18NaRU

They use an automotive filter with a fan to pressurize the trailer. Looks like a pretty simple setup and something you can do over a weekend if so inclined...

You're welcome. I've run wires along the frame rail too. I would say it's probably faster go along the frame rail and up into the cab vs. firewall and wire tray on the in side. I'm glad I did it that way though.

    :facepalm:facepalm I guess I missed that!

    @GHOST SHIP

Yes you're right. I did once before. Every day of the year (24 / 7 / 365) for four years running, I leave the little square window at the front of the truck shell open, so I think it may be providing some positive pressure when the truck is moving.

Those trailers are amazing, and cost amazing dollars. $$$$

I think you could rig up something like at 01:24 of that video to fit the front window of the shell. Keep things nice and clean!

    Thank you very much.

    Tomorrow it'll be fully operational.

I can't believe how incredibly time consuming the OBA project has been for me. It's been fun. I like this kind of work. And I'll be very happy to finally be done. :)

Definitely time consuming! But still fun! Did you ever figure out if there was an inline check valve for the leader hose?

No, I don't think it does though. If I was going to add a tank I'd want to know or at least have a conversation with ARB tech support about their design. My leader hose is a Viair one with no check valve, and easy to add one later if I wanted.

A portable system! ;). Keep it that way, a lot less expensive.

Haha. I have the viair constant duty setup, just have not felt like diving into the project quite yet.

Nice unit. It's been five months here. I initially built mine into a portable to delay OBA.

ARB Twin Air Compressor portable, and here.

What forced my hand to hard mount oba was lugging the 20 pound compressor in and out of the truck so many times, plus the space it consumed in the back. Got old.
