Sheesh, I'm off for a few hours and there's about 4 pages of posts with most beating up my crappy state that I live in. Highways are two lanes but that's not the real problem - it's really that there are WAY to many entrances / exits. It's just stupid that I95 is 108 miles and has 92 numbered exits! I84 isn't any better and the climbing lanes that are maybe 500 feet long are only used by ricers passing on the right. I can take metro north to grand central from my town although I've never done it in almost 50 years of life. If I were to move, it would be south to the Carolinas or Georgia low country.

Nino, my wife wasn't overly interested in having firearms in the house but after seeing 3 wonderful women brutally killed in their house in Cheshire with two being burned to death, her mind changed. She got her permit and she's one good shot. Even if yours doesn't want to get a gun, it's always a good idea to learn how to safely handle one if the need is presented later in life. My sisters took the class with my wife and they only wanted to know how to handle a firearm.

Mine is south, tired of winter plus cost of living. Staying here for my parents though

Good point about the gun thing. Have to time it right to be able to sit and talk to her about it. We'll get there, hopefully.

We have a fix coming for the alert problem. It's a known issue and a bit sporadic. No ETA but hopefully in the next couple weeks...

I know, I know, but I needed a half ton.
We have one at work, which I use from time to time. If you have the keyboard it works pretty well. Trying to do a spreadsheet using the touch screen is tough.

I drive from Fairfield to Stamford on i95 talk about hell on the way home. Especially on Thursday and Friday. I almost want to say tax the people leaving the state like what NY does with their GWB toll. At the same time going to vermont and going skiing would hurt me also. No real good answer.

Man, that's a suck ride I would wish on nobody.
At least I go the other way to work. Fairfield to Shelton. Easy-Peasy.

    Morning all.

Curious, anyone have any vacations planned for the summer? My family has a house on the Cape so I spend a couple weeks there every summer. But my girlfriend has been wanting to do something different so we might go camping in NH somewhere (never been before).

We like camping around the Portland area and usually take a trip or 2 camping in the Adirondacks in upstate NY.

The GF and I usually scarper north a couple of times a summer to go camping. We used to hit the Austins in Bingham pretty regularly, but a couple of years in a row it was fairly crowded so we stopped. Might try to get up into the Allagash this summer; we'll see.
Also planning on finishing up the restoration on my '69. I've been collecting parts all winter for it, and once I get the couple of spots on the body squared away it'll go in for paint. Then maybe we'll take it to some shows on the weekends. :notsure:

Plus the usual summer stuff; gardens, firewood, fishing, etc.

Honestly, if I was going to move anywhere by personal choice it'd be further north, or back West towards Farmington. Not crazy about the people in the Lewiston/Augusta region. And the ones in Portland are too...something for my tastes. Hipstery, maybe.

my parents have a place at chautauqua institutoion on lake chautauqua, ny that we go to every year. it's neat because you can rent boats, you can't drive on the grounds so you walk everywhere, and they also have classes and lectures you can attend. i've taken harmonica, robotics, and drawing
