Good deal. Ive been drooling over your build for a while now. Watching progress and skills.

Question, what welder are you using? Wire size, gas type? Is it plugged in to a 110 or 220volt line?

Yup. I started with a Lincoln 210MP. Paid $1100 new, does MIG, TIG and stick and will handle carbon steel up to 3/8" thick on 220V. Great machine for projects and light weight. I still have it but havent turned it on in months. I now use a Miller 252. Can dial in better than the Lincoln and the duty cycle is a hoss. I'll never hit it for what we do. One weld I do on a part we make is 12" long and is 1/4" thick steel. Can run one bead with no sweat and itll look like a robotic welder did it!

Thanks man! Still haven't made up my mind yet. At least I can always add the headlight hoops later if I decide I don't like it without them.

That's dope dude! I really like the Miller machines. Might upgrade to one at some point but for now my Hobart is great!

Hoop looks great Ryan! Just take it slow you have the choice to go with the single hoop for now and if you want more well you got all the stuff needed to add to it. You are at the point I believe many of us only wish we were at, being able to fab our own stuff. It's got to be an awsome feeling. Keep up the great work man.

Haha she is! Thanks man. I'm really liking it like this. If I decide later on full hoops it's easy enough to add them later on.

What's up dude. Thanks so much. I really appreciate the kind words. It's a lot of fun and I'm happy how things are taking shape.

Hey buddy PM'd you back. Got a great deal on the AP LT kit from someone about 5-10 mins away from my house who had it for sale on Craigslist.

    Exactly!

Any recommendations for a good TIG welder for under $1000?

Lincoln or Miller, check pawn shops. Find one with pulse! You'll regret it if you buy one without. I used a Syncrowave 252 I think but it was big money.

Yeah the Syncrowaves are sick! Debating on whether to get a TIG right now or just mess around with a spool gun for my MIG welder

You can learn the basics with a spool gun but theyre a couple hundred bucks. If youre going to get a tig machine eventually id save and just do that. But thats just me.

Yeah I'm not really sure what I wanna do. My space at home is kinda limited already so the spool gun might be nice for space saving purposes but a nice TIG machine would be sweet haha. Decisions decisions!

You should get a tig and we could just keep it at my house. It'll be like both ours.
