What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

That's right man, I used to pack a lunch and go all day, I'd usually come home with a pack full of antlers! Good luck out there, they're few and far between in Ga. But I have turkey season that just opened so oh well.

I like that material. The stuff they are selling here is a gray 40mil PVC and is kinda floppy. I was hoping to find something stiffer like a thin cutting mat material.

 

Well I haven't tried it without the gray wire mod. I had already done that when I installed the locker. I got it off of tacovio so I know it works.

And the switch has 4 wires. One is hot when the key is one. Another is hot when the button is pressed. The other too never saw power. I unplugged the 4wd computer plug and only one wire has power with key. And another has power when locker switch is pressed.

I checked the plug that runs along the frame rail as well. It has no power.

 

Mine did this couple months ago and finally got so mad at it I pulled it completely off the tracks lol. I had a dude I know put new tracks inside and works perfect now. The tracks are plastic and wear over time.

 

I can't find sheds at all. I put 10 miles on my boots Sunday and found a broken elk spike shed that was a few years old. Around where I live shed hunting as turned into a Black Friday sale, every weekend.
This is the only way I can find em....

 

New pads and rotors today.

 

I was looking at the Blue Sea fuse box when I found this one from Bussmann. It uses the mini blade fuses same as the Tacoma and has a sealed top. You also have the option to use mini relays, micro relays, and mini circuit breakers. Tall or short cover if you just want the mini fuses (20 circuits). Only about $60 for the one on Amazon but there are so many options that it might be best to do a group buy in order to get a distributor interested.

I have one of those from a group buy on here. Its pretty sweet! Love it.

 

I don't see where the problem could be? Or what it could be. the only part of the loom i cant seem is the floor in the truck. Guess something could be cut or something there?

The wire that go to the locker all run in a loom with the fuel pump stuff and the tail lights. So i figured it would be very odd none of those wires are having problems.

Idk. Guess im going to have to do a more detailed search.

That is sweet. I found a place to click order the whole kit in case there is no group buy soon. They have them with or without the relays.

Question: So I think I just need a few fuses right now but what kind of application would I need the relays for? Is that for different kinds of multi-pole throws or something to do with throwing higher amperage connections?

 

@Blackdawg told me its a good idea to just have everything on a relay. But im pretty sure its for sending power to higher amperage things, were the switch itself cant handle that many amps, so its just used to signal the relay.

 

You use a relay so you don't run the full amp draw of the component you are powering thru a switch inside your cab. Lights and such can have a significant power draw. You power the relay under the hood instead then activate the relay with a single small ga wire thru the firewall to the switch on your dash.

 

I dont think it was that much but I didn't want to assemble it. However, I would like to tackle this project by myself now

Yeah, that is what I did when I changed pads on my RX-7.
Pump until till solid, check, pump until sold, check.
It took a while, you just need to keep the fluid reservoir topped off.
