I dig these new tires just sucks I just bought KO2's right before they came out. Almost pulled the trigger on buying them but Discount Tire was out of the 265/75/16. Where did you get them I see you are in the IE as well.

How are you liking those 295's? I'm actually a Cooper dealer and long time fan of the STT and new Pro. It looks like your suspension has settled some, any rubbing issues after the CMC yet?

 

No rubbing yet and it's not settling, I just added a shit-ton of weight. Lol. Airbags coming for the rears next week.

 

Took my First Tacoma off roading today and had a blast!!! Went to the Coconino National Forest up here in Flagstaff, Az. Just some trails off the highway. First time every having a truck to do this and man was it fun! It handled everything that the trail threw at it and made the ride for me so smooth. ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THIS TRUCK!!!!

 

Spend a week in the Chinati Mountains area of Big Bend, TX.

Per their request, I got the taco stuck in 2WD mode for the kids then climbed out in 4WD...



Tried out MTS and Crawl mode


And did some mountain biking in Big Bend Ranch State Park

Not quite ready to contribute to this thread, since I just got my '16 and there's no off-roading nearby. But I'm heading out to Death Valley tomorrow, won't do anything too hardcore with a new truck, stock Wranglers and no sliders or skids, but I do have a question: How's the Toyota navigation map support off-pavement trails? Anyone with DV or Panamint Valley experience yet? This is my first vehicle with factory navigation. I have an old Garmin Nuvi and map coverage is quite good off pavement here in California. I've been on some old ranch/BLM tracks that were barely visible on the ground yet showed on my Garmin map. I can always bring my trusty Nuvi but would rather minimize the screens ... I'm already finding everything a distraction compared to my trusty old T100. And of course theres no cell coverage for iPhone navigation where I'll be going. Thanks.

My Nav had basic info in Big Bend but definitely not offload trails, dirt roads, etc. I like to cache these things on my phone zooming into areas I'll be going while I still have a connection. Then when you get there you can follow along and don't need a connection. If you have an iPhone you can run in Airplane mode plus wifi to get the blue dot while traveling beyond cell coverage (little known trick!).

As for Death Valley, I think you'll find there's a lot you can do without sliders and those stock shoes. Don't let this hold you back! Playa and surrounding northern roads should be fine... You'll know it if there's a spot you shouldn't do without.

 

Thanks. I usually end up forgetting to save maps for offline use. And I didn't know the GPS works in airplane mode with WiFi on. I always figured that Apple had a deal with Garmin to not compete too much, so they didn't offer an airplane + GPS mode (no WiFi or cell to help save battery life). If WiFi turns on the GPS that's good to know since I'll have my $37000 phone charger with me. I haven't had a flat in DV with various P metric all-season tries but the Wranglers seem to have a bad rap. Knock on wood! In fact the only flat I've ever had off-road was with BFG MT's (pre-KM2 vintage).

I'm no expert for but dry desert activity I was darn impressed with the Wranglers.

I have done Azusa and Calico and they are both known for Sharp rocks. The wrangler P tires have held up for me. I am chucking the rear tires, though. Too many rough Hills in 2wd before switching to 4x4

 

Really wish I had some more open land around here to get out with the truck. Indiana isn't necessarily known for its off-roading
