All good, I laugh at it anyways that it happened. Just shitty luck and all I can do is hope for the best now.

See I couldn't do that, not for my type of riding at least. It's easy to do 500/week. But I don't ride dirt much.

Yikes! Hate when that happens. I'm thinking rich mixture from riding at high elevations. I was riding a two stroke when I was in Colorado in 2001. The difference between the bottom of the mountain and the top was very noticable. Just couldn't have crisp jetting in both places without stopping and pulling the carb apart. This is where EFI would be a huge advantage.

Yea I'm only riding about 1500+ miles a year and it's almost all singletrack at a B rider enduro kinda pace. I try not to ride the same trail twice in the same year.

$36 for 3 oil changes of castrol full synthetic 10w40. Plus three oil change kits from thumpertalk was about $24

Apparently they don't sell the oil change kits anymore, fuck.

So now I'm thinking I want to get into hare scrambles this summer. So no way can I afford 2 bikes. And I couldn't see myself spending alot on a bike for dual sport riding if I was to get another to race.

Any bike that could do both? I could use it as a daily driver and take the mirrors and what not off for the hare scrambles. But it seems 2 stokes are kinda the way to go for the hare scrambles. I don't think that would be a good idea for a rode bike.

Maybe I'll get a drz then get like a kdx200 to race.

See at that point I would definitely be getting something dirt bike only. Last year when I went to Colorado we rode around day 1 and went to Pike's peak and a few other spots. 2nd day met up with muffin man and rode trails. I rode to the trails, on the trails, and back after the day. Without any complications or worry of anything. Dual sport is good enough for myself

I have a kdx200 and freaking love it. Great woods bike! A ktm 200 is a really great woods bike as well. If you can afford to have a drz and a kdx that's what i would do. If I had to pick I would choose dirt over street any day. That's just me though

Did some more looking and it seems like the ktm 450 exc could do both dual sport riding and the hare scrambles. It probably won't be as good nimble as a 200 but I figure with some practice you can learn how to ride it pretty good.

The solution is to have a street bike for the street, a dirt bike for the trails, and an adventure bike that can go almost anywhere.

KTM 525, Moto Guzzi Griso 8v, KTM 1190 or KLR 650 for the adventure bike.

Or a bike that can do it all but won't be the best at any. :p

I've raced enduros and hare scrambles on the 450. It all depends on what your expectations are. I mostly just go to a race to have fun and ride property that I can't access any other way and I do like the competition plus get to see old friends and such. I've got a KDX 220 that I've owned for 5 years and only put 6 miles on it. I had a KTM 250exc 2 stroke that was plated for the street so I could race enduros and connect trails but it was definately more of a race bike. The 450 strikes that balance for me that it's racey enough to be a lot of fun but can still take it on the road if I need to.

You lose too much. I've made the compromises of multiple all-around bikes and sure it can work but it's just not as fun. Though if money wasn't an option I wouldn't say no to a 1190 Adventure R; but that's about as close as you'll come to a one does all bike.

Supermoto! Easy enough to have a trail bike by swapping wheels, Street bike as well. The only thing that wouldn't be comfortable is doing loooooong highway days and I'm thinking like 3 hours + straight of highway. But still can adventure on it wherever you please if you pack accordingly.

By adventure I mean "lets ride to Mongolia" kind of a thing.

Checked the oil, greased the wheel bearings, lubed the chain, and adjusted my clutch cable. After I replaced the clutch plates and springs, the clutch had just about only an on/off feel. Now it's back to being a linear pull like it used to be. Should have fixed that a long time ago... Haha

A few weeks ago I mentioned that my bike was ticking louder than it used to and was worried it was my cam chain tensioner. Found some videos on what a failing one sounds like on the CRF250L's and mine is definitely not near that loud. Doesn't get louder when I increase RPM either. Must be just the normal tick all thumpers have, thank goodness.

The ticking got to me too. It sounds broken, ha. Surprisingly the grom doesn't really do that though.

I rode the grom to work today as well since it was 60 this morning. Took me twice as long on the back roads.

Fuel tuners? What do people usually go with? I know theres the PCV, bazzazz, API and a few others for the grom. Just having a hard time deciding which, I know I'll need a wideband. Which the wb2 allows under 80% throttle tuning and redline can be adjusted. I think the bazzazz afe allows under 80% as well but can't raise the limiter..

Don't know a ton about different tuners, but my EJK is easy to use and has done great so far.

Speaking of which I think I need to lean out the idle setting on my bike. Smells way to strong just sitting there.

That's another I've seen on the forums. Although it's been far and few mentions from those others.

Went and rode around for a couple hours trying to find new places I haven't explored yet.

Got rid of my chicken strips on the back tire and felt the rear start slipping out from under me for the first time in a high speed turn. Fun stuff haha
