To keep the occupancy sensors for the passenger seat airbags, have you considered seats from a different Toyota product? I've heard talk of retrofitting Tundra seats into 2nd gens.

I'm installing a Pelfrey T-case skid with exhaust re-route. Anyone have experience with their re-route skid? Just looking for general info and feedback is all. Thanks!

Sorry I can't multi quote from my phone:

    1. All of the aftermarket seats are much more firm than OE.

    2. Pay very close attention to the specs/dimensions of the seats most of them are much more narrow than OE. Corbeau offers a lot of their seats in a wide version but you have to measure to ensure that they will fit between the door panel and center console.

    3. Never run harnesses without a cage it is death if you roll over because you will not be able to duck or slide sideways etc to avoid the roof crushing your head.

    4. The airbags will work it just takes a bit of work. The drivers seat has a simple magnetic seat position sensor that you need to transfer over to the new seat rails. Make sure you put it in the same position as OE. For the passenger seat you need to purchase an Occupant Sensor bypass module. There is a guy that makes one for our tacos but I am out of town and don't have his info with me so PM me if interested and I will get it for you next week when I am home. The passenger seat has an occupant sensor and seat position sensors connected to a little ECU under the seat. The bypass module allows you to reuse that ecu with an aftermarket seat and gives you a switch to turn the pass airbad on and off manually like the 05-06's had on the dash.

I put Corbeau LG1's in my dbcb front and rear. They make rails for the front seats bit you will have to buy an extra set for the rear seats and chop them up customize and reweld etc for the rear seats. Do not buy any seats without sitting in them first, they are firmer and more form fitting. Over the years I've had Recaro, Sparco and Corbeau and none are as soft as my oe sport seats were...but you can replace your seats for a lot less than re foaming and re upholstering your OE sests.

Does yours bang the skid at all? That seems like the easiest/cheapest reroute option.

No, but I do have to make sure to clean it out from time to time (which I assume is normal for everyone with that skid). After 4 days in Baja I started to get a little rattle only in reverse. Come to find out I had filled that skid with sand and rocks. Cleaned it out and rattle was gone. I didn't have to take the skid off to clean it, I just assumed the rattle was going to be harder to find. luckily, it wasn't!

How long is the resi? Can either bottom it out or somewhere past two thirds of the way in from the shrader valve end. So a 8 inch resi you could push it in 6 or a bit more. I've had good luck with both ways

Ohhh. Hmm I did it once before on @Blackdawg kings for his double cab and I think we just used the 2/3 of the space available for that too. Maybe he remembers.

Agreed. More info in general please because I want to get some seats badly but am trying to determine which one would be the most comfy out of all of them. Doesn't have to necessarily be soft, as I feel like not even the stock one is soft at all, it just has to play nice with the natural curvature of the spine and be pretty quality and not feel like I am sitting on cardboard.

So I just called ECGS to ask if they reccomend synthetic or non-synthetic diff oil now that my 500 miles is up, and they reccomend non-synthetic saying they haven't seen anything good come of synthetic diff oil and they just like non-synthetic. Has anyone put synthetic diff oil in with aftermarket gears, or why should I not put synthetic in? I thought synthetic is a way better..
