You will loose clearance anywhere above the lower ball joint which is where the rubbing occurs (the lower ball joint is below the center-line of the tire). The lower ball joint is fixed, it cannot move forward or else we would not need UCA to correct caster issues. In short, UCA will correct caster issues but they will not correct rubbing issues in the back of the wheel well and will actually make them worse. I had rubbing on the front of my wheel wells before the UCA, now I rub on the backside.

Well... put on billies, aal, and these ucas on Saturday. Went well for the most part but Jesus Lord Maria was that passenger side uca bolt fun to extract! Truck is at a trusted mechanic for wheel/tire assembly and alignment for a day or two, I'll share alignment numbers ASAP.

@Blackout14 you got the hookup with Marlin see what he thinks.. I understand for the majority of users the rubber tension torque flex rubber is nice and quiet, but maybe poly would be nice.. I mean I personally have never had squeaky poly so I think it would be a plus.

Sounds good, keep me/us posted. I hammered on mine the last few weekends and they have handled nicely. Front end seems all squared away, just working on rear end and axle wrap now due to boosties :laser:.. got a trac bar in the making as we speak so that should sow that up. Then just focus on maintenance and go out have some taco fun.

Ouch! I hate heims with a passion... I swear I have replaced more heims on the ends of shocks than ever had to replace rubber on my last truck or the previous stock shocks.. which took very similar beatings...

Heims are terrible if they touch water or dirt unprotected.

Yeah the ORI's look awesome... problem for the average joe is buying and maintaining a nitrogen supply... NOT CHEAP along with the regulators... although I have tossed the idea of them around for a looooong time...

You can't, which is why they fail lol. You can protect the heim joints on other UCA's though.

It will take a long time to come up with a coilover that's as good as someone's who has been doing it for decades. It's one of those difficult but not impossible things to figure out. I agree though, he will get it figured out eventually and good on you for being the guinea pig.

I see lots of "street queens" running around with them, but they didn't last for me..

Everything GOOD has had extensive R&D so hats off to the little guy for trying to get in with the top dogs and provide affordable alternatives. The UCA are of great quality, so I would expect once he has found something he is happy with and tested it will be just as impressive.

Isn't it the valving that determines digressive or progressive? I thought the springs usually had a constant rate of compression resistance?
