Actually, Marty McFly's bumper looks better than some of those big hurcan suckers I've seen around. At least it didn't take an out of work engineer with a geometry minor and and an angle finder to put it together. Sometimes simple is beauty and functional.

That's a grille guard. Also known as a damage multiplier.

I don't know, it looks a lot like the Hickey tube bumper and grille guard I had on my first Toyota back in the day. The good old '85 with injection and solid axle front. I welded a winch mount on that and it was pretty stout for the day.

No. If you look closely you'll see that the original bumper is intact. Ask anybody who has been in a wreck with one of those and they will steer you clear.

I know what you're saying. Just stating that back in the day they were actually a stronger replacement for the tinny stock bumpers. I think that's why they wanted it to look like Marty's truck. Way cheesy IMO.

Yeah that one is from Expedition One. A bit bulky for my taste, but not too bad.

You drill into the bumper or get a winch mounted flip up plate

that's what I thought, but a lot of these bumpers don't seem to even have a mountable space to do so. I dunno, the pics aren't great so maybe my perspective is off.

They just changed the law in my state about that, so now we're like the other 48 states that don't require a front plate, so I don't think about it anymore. I thought you were good with 1 in Cali?

Of the ones I've seen, most have the holes, they are just hard to see. :smash:

hmmm, I'm pretty sure by law you need a front plate in CA. but, I've seen many dudes go without and not be harassed though....

Some vehicles don't come with a provision for them anymore, that's why states are changing. Check yours!

Came to this thread to say CBI. Definitely the best fitting bumper IMO. Sticks out just an inch or two from the grill, and lines seem to match the truck well. I didn't know about the 10% off, how long is this first run?
