So I recently took delivery of a set of Outpost Off Road Rock Sliders metal tech. I love the look and finish, and the price was perfect.

After installing the first one, I realized these did not bolt-on as I expected. I was told they would fit my 16' Tacoma and they do, but not 100%.

The issue is the bottom bolt holes do not line up with anything on the frame. The bolt holes that mount on the side of the frame line up perfectly. Although these would work great for step bars, I will need to bolt the bottom up for actual rock sliding.

After speaking with metal tech, they advised that I would need to drill into the bottom of the frame for these to be fully functional rock sliders. Normally I wouldn't have a problem doing this, but my truck is a lease and the last thing I want is to drill into the frame.

Has anyone had issues with their bolt on Rock sliders like this?

Should I just drill into the frame and call it a day?

Or should I opt for a different set of rock sliders that are true bolt on's?

If I go with a different set of sliders, I would be open to selling my current ones to someone as long as they come pick them up.

I know the Relentless Sliders are 100% bolt on and I should be ordering them this week:fingerscrossed:. Some other companies do require you to drill into the bottom of the frame, if you're leasing the truck and are not planning to buy the truck either after the lease or before the lease is up then I wouldn't start drilling holes in the frame. Who knows what :crapstorm: that would cause when you turn the truck back in. I leased my truck too because I usually go through vehicles pretty quick and thought that would be the case with my truck but then I fell in love with it and won't be getting rid of it for many years to come so now I don't really care if I mod it since I'll be buying it.

We are one of the only companies that does not require any drilling what so ever and they do fit the third gens. They are the strongest set on the market and will easily take any thing you throw at them. Read here on what sets up apart and above other brands. http://mobtownoffroad.com/2015/11/18/what-makes-moboff-bolt-on-sliders-the-best/

Why would anyone rock crawl a leased vehicle?

I don't plan on tackling boulders, but I do go off-roading and want to protect the truck as much as possible for those unexpected moments.

As they say, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Because it is sort of like a rental? Haha

You'd think the worse car to have as a rental is a Prius. I couldn't power brake it, no reverse donuts, couldn't drift the back end with the e brake BUT it sailed across muddy fields like a boat with enough momentum. Or so I hear...

I'm luvin these BAMF sliders! Very sturdy and they got here much faster than expected. I caught them on sale. BAMF was easy to work with; answering my questions very quickly and kept in the loop the whole time with updates.

Ordered some Mobtown off road sliders yesterday for my TRD OR AC. You wouldn't happen to have an access cab version picture w/kickouts and w/fill plates? I didn't see one on your website.

Sorry, I don't think we have pictures of that config on an AC. Seems like everyone has a DCSB.
