We just need a company to provide a true 3" lift. Without having to max anything out.

    but..but.. but..

toytec already does with the BOSS kit, since the 16's come with 1" of lift from the factory the BOSS kit will get you to that magic 3" lift no problem :yay:

Got off the phone with Eibach. They said the current pro truck is good at 0 but need a slight dampening adjustment they found. Said to check back in two weeks since they make them in house in Cali. Hopefully I get a first dibs order at discount since I have been talking with the Tech lead:-/ Still stock and have a slight vibe btw. looks another bushing is in the near future.

I ask because you keep suggesting potential failure of the spring seat, or clip. The 5100s are designed for 1/2 ton class vehicles. Why might they fail on a Tacoma?

I suggested the failure based on the spring rate of the 2016 and those attempting to set the 5100 at the highest setting and compress the OEM spring back on. I have personally made the mistake of maxing out an adjustable coilover only to have it explode on the highway. So putting that amount to tension on the OEM spring and the top setting of a 5100 is asking for trouble. The video posted earlier suggests that they should hold the spring just fine but the dampening in the 5100 might not be set correctly.

My response to your post above was geared toward when I reseached rear shocks. I had installed the B110'S which are designed for 1st Gen Tundra's and they worked well but as I increased gear in the bed they eventually were not valved for the load I carry. I went looking for internal valve specs and spoke to companies about it to see what shock I could get that would work better. No one would share specs with me and I was guided to ICON custom built shocks. It was a much needed upgrade and I am thrilled with how they turned out.

but..but..but that's a 3" 2nd Gen lift that only gets you 2" on a 3rd Gen. What about the 3rd Gen owner that wants 3" over stock?

My understanding is that the suspension travel is the same as 2nd gen. So downward travel would be similar to a 2nd gen. 4" lift is pretty much max travel and your CV angles would be horrible. A realistic angle on the CV's is 2.5" lift or for a 3rd gen 1.5"

You can certainly lift it more but CV axle wear will be premature and at 4" with no down travel I would imagine the ride would suck.

the toytec BOSS kit sold for the 16's is designed for the 16's to give you 2" of lift to achieve both a good ride height and great performance on and off road. If you were to crank up the BOSS shock to achieve 3" of lift on a 3rd gen, or 4" of lift on a 2nd gen then you would be maximizing the shock and cause potential failure. If you wanted to get 3" on a 3rd gen why not go with the BOSS kit and then get a 1" body lift?

Not sure about the other stuff you mentioned but I feel like the body lifts are sketchy. Upon hard enough impact the cab can rip away from the frame lol but that's my opinion. Personally I like the performance vs going as high as possible.

I agree, but he is wanting 3" on a 2016 so that would be an option. Thats why i didn't just say why not go for a full 6" kit instead, because I'm assuming he wants to keep it lower but who knows why he is set on 3" on a 16, the extra inch really isn't going to do anything in my opinion

Yeah seen ppl do 2-3" of body lift :( plus if he's gonna run 33s or higher that's gonna give him a higher stance

Coming from a jeep there's some similarities and differences so let me get to the point. Still waiting on my BBP DCSB to come in (just collecting some info for the time being). Im interested in the Kings as I think the blue will look good with the BBP.

If I purchase the king 2.5 front coilovers, 2.5 rear shocks, and camburg UCAs am I good to go? On my jeep i replaced everything (sway bars, control arms, brake lines, etc.). Trying to have an idea of what I all need before I order and install everything in the near future. Is a leaf pack necessary?

    Sweet deal. Thanks!

Probably not going with extended as I dont do too much offroading. Camping, gravel/dirt roads in the mountains, and Occasionally go to an offroad park.

yeah I was panning on getting the ICON stage 3 lift with UCA's. So i guess we will have to see, i am hoping it at least clears the ICON UCA's with no spacers.
