Not all of us have trails that use the whole tire. Doesn't count haha

No, but it's the only one that had somewhere I could put my phone. Should have brought my GoPro...

Found an awesome spot to jump like 5 minutes from my house, but it's right beside a main road so I only hit it a couple times.

I'm tired and going to mids, that's my excuse haha

Have you ever road a 450? I mean just for me a 450 is Way to much I'm the woods. You loose a lot when you try to have one that is good enough for both. For that and and from a supermoto side of things i would say a we 250 would be perfect but the graring you would have to run for the street would suck for woods racing. In my opinion it's better to have one for street and one for dirt. Or just pick one and stick with it

Yeah I've kinda come to that conclusion.

I've ride a xr200r and a xr650l. So I've ride both extremes for off-road bikes lol. But nothing in between. I'll have to talk to my dad about it and see what he thinks. He has alot of experience with multiple bikes and hare scramble racing.

Well right now I would really like the ktm 525 for a dual sport bike. It's light and will have the power my 650 had which I loved for rode crusing. I joined ktm talk to get more info on the maintence and what not. I want a bike that will last for a long time. Cause I'm not planning g on getting a different one unless all of a sudden my needs change. And if I decide it's not something I want. Or can't find it cheap enough then I'll probably get a drz. Cause it's still 30 lbs lighter then my 650.

Then I will do some searching for a hare scramble bike I guess.

Your bike might actually take jumps better than mine...3ft of air bottomed out every bit of suspension she had. Have only done that a couple of times.

Trails that use the hole tire? I scrub my tires off on the street before i take them to the dirt....not uncommon for the back end to slide out on most of the turns on the way to work. I like getting it all the way over on the side lugs and then rolling onto the throttle as i exit the turn and right the bike back up. If you flick the bars just right as you roll onto the throttle, the rear tire will drift while the bike stands back up. Almost as fun as :bikewheelie2:

Doubt it. My rear shock does fine, but the front forks are way too soft. I've bottomed out the front before no problem.

Now that I think about it, I was able to get to the edge of my knobbies pretty easily. Completely different than street tires.

Well thats kinda what i see. Typed in KTMtalk on google and everyone says the same thing!

In other news just got done talking to my dad. He is kinda convinced that a ktm wouldn't really be much of a good dual sport bike. Thought there were way more offroad oriented then I needed out of a dual sport. Doesn't mean I'm throwing them out of the picture. I would say if I found a good price on a 525 I would take it. But its looking like a drz400 would be a better option.

On the hare scramble side of things I'm going to look at the cost needed to get my xr200r into racing shape. I figured It would be a good bike to get into the sport and if I really want to get into it more I would find like a ktm 200. I'm hoping it will be cheaper then buying a whole new bike, 125, 200, or 250.

But I don't think I will probably know what all needs to be done until I tear into it. The engine probably needs rebuilt, but what? New pistons and rings? rebore? bottom end? top end? I don't know. The suspension probably needs redone as well, new spings in the front forks for sure. Anyone got any recommendations on all what I should do to it?

If I buy a sport bike I'll either kill myself or get thrown in jail.

Doesn't stop me from wanting one though. :headbang:

So this happened last night. Ripped off while bombing a trail.

Guess its time for the updated DRC integrated tail light, flush mount TST front signals, and I guess i'll give the TST LED relay another shot
