Quicksand TRD Off-road 4x4 DCSB tow package premium audio. Build date 3/29, delivery hopefully sometime early April. Ordered mid feb...longest wait of my life...

 

I placed my order on 2-17. No build date or vin as of yet. How long was it till the dealer gave you all a build date after placing an order? They have yet to take a deposit from me. Should I be concerned? Hope not cause I have a fox 2.5 lift and method wheels/nitto tires setup in my living room waiting lol.

 

When I went in my dealer ran the numbers and took my deposit that day, I'm assuming they already had my specific truck on order because they gave me the build date the same day. As for delivery they said they would have a specific delivery date till the truck was processed for shipping.

 

Ordered end of nov, supposedly my build date was today!

 

Been lurking for a couple months, but I guess I can add myself to the waiting list. I went into the dealership on February 13th to check out a DCSB OR they had on their website. After we searched 3 different offsite lots, turned out that vehicle was sold even before arriving at the dealership. I agreed to wait for a truck in an allocation order. In the time since, I've had trouble locating any MGM DCSB OR without tech in AZ. Didn't quite realize how few were stocked & how quickly they get purchased.

Just got word a couple days ago they have one with my desired options that should be coming in end of April/early May. I haven't put anything down yet, but they said they've reserved it in my name. Was given a build date of 4/21 and full VIN#. I have a 1998 Tacoma Prerunner 4 banger, the excitement is starting to set in.

 

Saturday is the day fellas!! Dealer 300 miles away had the exact one I wanted so my dealer brought it in!

 

Sorry, have been away from the board for a few weeks. Those are the OEM flaps. I bought the 4 x 4 emblems on Ebay and applied them to the rear flaps.

 

I got my build date yesterday for an order placed in the end of January. Same model as yours.

 

I didn't take delivery. They refused to honor their original contract and would not revert the cover changes either. Two sales managers told me to take it or leave it. One even went as far as telling me "...if you can find another dealership offering that price, you are welcomed to go there". I was appalled at their attitude when they were clearly in the wrong because they screwed up pricing during negotiations. I called Corporate and now there is a case opened against the dealership. We'll see where this goes.

 

So they are willing to let you walk over $650? I guess the dealer is pretty confident that the truck will sell and do not need your business.

 

I ordered mine the same day. Mine's a long bed which is why I believe it took as long as it did to get a build date. I'd be on the phone hounding the dealership. I was told this week that my truck will be built April, 21.

 

I would have just got the truck and sold the cover if you didn't want it. The dealers have all of the power. If you don't want to screw around and find another one maybe it's best to take the truck as is.

 

Mine was due to be built last week I believe. I ordered a Quicksand ORDCLB back before Christmas. Got a build date about a month or so ago. They ordered the wrong color (Barc Red). I had them re-order the correct color, but after visiting a few dealerships and looking at both colors closely I decided on the Red after all. So I should have it within a few weeks. Now I have to worry about negotiating price. I imagine they won't cancel the Quicksand order. They'll probly just sell it or dealer trade it.

Yeah, they were extremely arrogant especially for an error they made.

It's not that I don't want the cover. It's that I'm being charged for it because the factory forces the cover install with the P/T package. The dealership did not realize that and gave me a quote w/o the cost of the cover for the custom configuration order. I confirmed with them that the price would remain the same because they gave me an updated build sheet with the cover itemized, and they said that the price would NOT change. When I walked in to take delivery of the truck with a certified check, they up the price on me to include the cover.

 

I agree it's a pretty screwed up deal.

 

Hello everyone! I too am on the waiting list!

I'm a salesman at a BMW dealer who's parent company also also owns a Toyota store right down the street. I grabbed an allocation back in February (& modified it to my liking - DCSBOR in Quicksand with V6 tow package only), and waited about 4 weeks for the truck to be built. Well, it was finally built 2 days ago on 3/22 and is scheduled for delivery between 4/9-4/13. I'm extremely excited! I'm leasing it for now (since employee lease opportunities are pretty good), but plan to buy it out if I love it enough.

I've been daily-driving my 430+hp 2008 BMW M3 6 speed, and as much as I love the car, it's a little too involved for DD use. Roads around here suck, and the colder temps cause the manual trans. to be a little stiff and not as rewarding to drive as it is in warmer weather. The Tacoma will make for a much-needed break from the M3 once it comes in.

We'll see how the techs react when I tell them to check trans. fluid as soon as it arrives so that I can take delivery ASAP. I'll be doing driveshaft grease myself.

I've always been an outdoorsman, but haven't been the last few years. Hoping this truck reignites my love for the outdoors in all the adventures I plan to take in it.
