Smith isn't a true max. I never use it at all actually, unless I'm doing shrugs (sometimes), or standing calf raises. I did use it yesterday to do close grip bench because there wasn't another bench open, but that was only because I had to.

Like Paulo Said, find a random and ask them to spot you. Most people in the gym don't care to give a spot.

    On another note:
Couple douches in the gym yesterday. Same one flexing a couple weeks ago taking selfies and all that shit. He wouldn't leave me alone. Telling me where he got all his sweet new clothes. While I'm trying to lift. While I had my headphones on. Then, as I'm helping my buddy change the weight for his drop set, the guy looks at me and goes "are you a personal trainer?" I wanted to say yes and give him some stupid advice that would never work. But, I didn't. THEN, he starts talking to this girl telling her to feel his muscles. She text me and said "I'm gonna need you to come save me. Take care of this..."

Apparently, bro took Roids in high school (just a few years ago) and still thinks he's a badass. He's smaller than me. And I'm #allnattybro. #cantbenatty. #itakeproteinandcreatine

Word. I usually don't like to talk to anyone but I guess if I want to test mac I need to.

Yeah bro she's singing about how bad she wants my dick. I know it.

I never did Smith machines till I went to my girls gym and it's the only form of bar they have. I did dead lifts with it and it felt weird.

Did deficit deadlifts today for the first time, worked my way up to 275 for one rep then worked my way back down. Shit was brutal.

The only thing i like the smith for is for floor presses. Lay down flat on your back and bench from a starting position where your tri/elbow is flat on the ground. Its amazing! i used to dumbells for it but once you get to the big weights its really hard on you trying to get the weight into position.

Other useful thing is snatch grip high pulls :)

Like everyone said, smith machine blows. It's on a line, so you don't get to make your natural movements on it. Plus, the counterweights on most of them take away the weight of the bar.

    beast mode engaged

so awkward lol...never done them and never want to

let us know how dem ass cheeks feel in a couple days

Didn't get to the gym until 4:00 today. Usually go at 8:30am and worst case 10am but work held me up all day. So I was already in a funk. I got in the zone though and got in a killer shoulder day. I'm on this new pyramid thing (20,18,16,10,8,6,10,20) and did it with Arnold Press today. My arms were noodles after.

Right when I was done this kid who had been poorly working back who I could see looking at me in he mirror came over and started doing Arnold Press. #rolemodel

Going to have to get in a 2-a-day tomorrow to make up for being gone this weekend and missing the gym Friday. Uppers (sans shoulders) in the a.m. and legs in the afternoon and dead by dinner.

Ok so I want some completely unbiased advice. Everyone knows that I've lost a shit ton of weight. Pretty much a whole person. My originally goal was to be at 250 by July 4th. Being 6'5" helps me but I'm still at a higher than what I should or even like to be body fat percentage. I'd say I'm at least 30% my bod pod results say I'm at 24% but I'm thinking more around 30. I want to eventually be at 10-13% body fat and around 220-230 lbs.

All that being said I'm currently sitting at 257.4 so 7.4 lbs away from my original goal. Which is going to put me at 160 lost. Should I keep cutting until 210-220 or start maintaining at my current weight and start building as much muscle as possible then start cutting again once my b/f is lower? Either way I'm ok with what I have to do. And honestly scared shitless of bulking or maintaining because I'm terrified I'm gonna blow back up.

So that being said. What are you're all opinions. Obviously I know do what the $&@* I wanna do this is just advice lol.
