I'm sorta surprised that nobody but ARB has decided to just go around the grill instead of under it in order to keep it up higher (better approach angle). The grills have a very large and barely noticeable radius under them that tends to provide a gap at the lower corners on both sides on the bumpers that I've seen. I think just because the grill is so huge, that you don't necessarily have to show the whole thing off. I can understand more air to the radiator area, but with enough venting in the bumper, I think it wouldn't be a problem.

I think if you read my original post, you'll see that FabFours is listed. I'm not looking for an Australian semi-truck grill protector, just something that is functional, not so "In your face", has good protection, and compliments the new Tacoma well. I'd be willing to bet that my engine is probably lighter than that bumper too. At least it looks heavier than 75 lbs. My experience with their bumpers on full size trucks is that they are built pretty cheesy. Just my $0.02

I actually went through this thread from start to finish yesterday, so i must have missed it. I agree its in your face, and i also agree that full size truck bumpers are insane from them. I was just on the website and thats what they list for the weight. I was kind of baffled at the spec weight as well. Definitely looks 100+

Do it. Your going to need a lift to compensate for all the weight

Yeah I'm going to have to wait until after the bumper for the lift since I want to go with some nice coilovers with 700lb coils unless I can find some used. Then I can move to the rear bumper.
Edit: So far the plan is for some ICONs

I'd like to see a 3rd gen version of the U.S. offroad winch bumper. Is anyone in the process of fabricating one?

I like the grille protection, as It comes out a little bit, but not obtrusive.

Its amazing how much better the front end looks without the awful/awkward stock bumper.

    not true.

State law requires vehicle owners to display two license plates, one at the exterior front and one at the exterior rear of the vehicle. Plates must be securely fastened in the horizontal position of not less than 12 inches from the ground, measuring from the bottom. Texas Administration Code, Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, 217.22
