Using logic and experience, which of the taco motors do you think is the MOST bulletproof? This applies to all Gens. 2.7, 3.4, 4.0, maybe even the 3.5?

One can never have too many light bars.
3.4 but the 4.0 has built a solid record thus far as well. I know the 3.4's have a reputation of not burning much oil even at ridiculously high mileage.

Agree. I ran one, boosted, against the rev limiter, colectivley, for hours with never an issue.

Not tryin to pick a fight and I'm prolly one of the least mechanically inclined on this site but didn't the 3.4 have major issues with blown head gaskets? Please educate me if not lol

I think that was the 3.0 but like you I could definitely be wrong about that.

As far as I know, the 22RE and the 2.4L in the 1st gen Tacomas were 2 different motors

1st gen 5 lug Tacomas had a 2.4 motor that was extremely reliable
