That wont stop the shock from bottoming though. If he raises the bump stop so it hits the plate earlier it will stop it but if there is no room to buffer, the shock could still become the stop and it makes the relocate worthless cause hes limiting bump.

If he moves the lower mount towards the ground more it will give the buffer room in the case he bottoms hard and use the shock to its potential for bump. Droop is still going to be limited by a leaf pack with oem shackles.

The flip is going to let that axle bump/droop more because its moving more freely. Allowing for more use of that 12" shock.

No he is not and wont without removing the spring clip and doing a longer shackle.

My custom Deaver pack with the rear spring retainer clip bolt removed drooped 12" from bump plate to bump with flip and 5" shackle
    IMG_20160227_161706.jpg

Knowing I only have 12" of stroke to play with we decided to bolt the leaf retainer clip back up and now let the spring be my limiting factor by 3/4" on droop. This way if I droop out all the way, the leafs stop it and not the shock. So im using most of the droop and no straps needed.

For bump we took the measurements from bump plate to bump stop at ride height and added a 1" buffer to prevent using the shock as a stop. So I was at 6" and added 1". So I had 6" of bump before I hit the stop with a 1" buffer.

    Make sense?
