    Thanks .
I notice the bulletin says the relearn can only be reset with the Techstream .
Makes me wonder what the difference is between 2nd gen and 3rd gens .
Removing the battery for lets say half an hour clears the adaptive learning on 2nd gen .
Now I wish I had a techstream to play with lol

Was seen at the 3rd dealer today, very quickly too; in and out in 45m. They were really helpful and confirmed some trucks were low from the factory. Maybe the case number made the difference, but I wont be going back to either of thw other 2. They said it was about 2 qts low. I asked them to reset the adaptive learning, which they said they did. Truck immediately felt better. Shift timing makes more sense now too. Time and cold starts will tell. Tomorrow I will be calling corporate back to see how they plan on undoing 2800 miles of a low atf condition despite my 3 attempts to remedy it with dealers prior to getting a case.

I was too busy to make it to the local law library today, but I will be visiting it tomorrow and utilizing Westlaw (law/legal specific search engine) to research KS automotive lemon law. I'm surprised lemon laws haven't been squashed by politicians paid off by car manufacturers to be quite honest.

no it was shifting odd. it would constantly keep shifting around at low rpm like it didnt know what gear it wanted. and R-D was a delay. I will say though it shifts better now driving but I am still getting a decent delay from R-D each morning when its cold

Just got off the phone with corporate. Gave them my whole chain of events and timeline, concerned that my $38k new truck now has 2800 miles of undue wear and damage to the trans bc of Toyota's failure to practice due diligence despite my repeated concerns to 3 different dealers. I suggested a longer warranty on the trans, and they said they can't buy warranties for people. Was told this is as high as my case will go and they will not do anything further. I asked if I have any recourse if the transmission fails just outside the factory warranty. She gave me the canned "it's a case by case basis" response. I said I may have to sell it because of this and she said to call them back if I decided to and maybe they could help. Not to pleased. I don't want anything else but I dont want to get stuck with the bill for a new trans at 60k miles because of this.

BS, there's at least 2 here that I've seen that they extended the warranty for.

I had NO issues with mine, but took it to get checked anyway for peace of mind
and to get them to put it in writing that there were no issues and it was full.

    Hello All -

I am newbie here and I have 2016 TRD Sport w/ Tow Package. I've been lurking around and finally decided to sign-up. I am concern about the low tranny fluid issue. However, I am unsure what exactly happen with R-D delay or how to determine if my truck has the low tranny fluid symptoms or not.

Does it mean when shifting from R to D, the truck would NOT move if you press the gas pedal until a few seconds or so?

    Thanks.

yea. if you shift from R-D and hitting the gas and its not doing anything but rpm climbing for a 1-2 second thats a symptom. Also i had issues with erratic shifting at low rpm it would shift up and down non stop like it was confused on what to do with the gear to get in.

I have most of the symptoms listed here :
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...be-low-on-fluid-directly-from-factory.405642/

    SYMPTOMS
slow to go in gear on cold start ".
    slips when turning corners "
    slips while going uphill .
    falling into neutral
long delay from reverse to drive
shifting vibrations and downshift clunking .
    converter chatter
shift busyness from 4th through to 6th gear
Some members are not feeling any symptoms and finding out their fluid is low
Come to a complete stop before selecting forward or reverse . This is driving 101
If this post is making you paranoid wondering if your fluid is low , dont blame the messenger . Toyota is 100% at fault. Call Corporate now

Here is a member who received extended warranty
Pretty happy about how things worked out.

Thanks you, Both. Mine doesn't have the delay, however it rpm surges when shifting from P to D and to R when cold. Other than that, no delays.

Picked up my truck earlier from the dealer and the transmission fluid is at the proper level. I do have a minor delay from R to D when cold but all else seems fine for now.
At least I have it documented now just in case it implodes!
