MOD: A-Pillar RAM mount GPS/Phone holder

Seriously, have you tried pulling the steering wheel closer to you?

 

Thank you to the OP Palehorse1. I installed mine today. I got the standard size X-grip hoping that it would work with my phone (Moto X Pure Edition in Otter Box case). It barely fits but it works and I'm happy with it. Thank you for posting this. Now as soon as it warms back up I'll be doing the rear diff breather relocation mod.

This one is in my wheel house for sure. Such a good idea. Wish I had thought of it.

 

I went with the RAM-B-360, its a motorcycle mount that fits perfect. It has a built in knuckle that helps keep the mount further away from the steering wheel.

 

How did you bolt in to the grab bar mount with that? The picture I found of it aren't clear about both that come out of RAM mount.

The bottom side piece comes off and tossed. The bolt then has enough threads to attach in the a pillar hole. Just make sure to get the right length bolt and threaded correctly. I think i used a 50mm, not positive on that size, i purchased a couple different lengths.

They make the coolest stuff, that one looks ridiculously utilitarian.

 

Guess I missed the cycle mount, but I got sick of my windshield mount falling off into my lap, so I got this and bolted it to the little trim piece on the door

Installed today! FYI I had to go up to a 55mm bolt because I couldn't get the 50 to bite. Not sure whats different about my 2015 A-pillar than other trucks. Love this mod.

 

I love my mount so much I'm about to do one for my passenger side as well. By far my favorite interior mod

 

Did that too. Shared the love on the other side of the truck.
