F-150 has 3 V6's. The 3.5 and 2.7 EcoBoost and the naturally aspirated base 3.5L but yeah, I am curious to see what Toyota does with the Tundra.

That's right...so think if the tacoma had a larger v6 (4.0) than the one in the f150...that would be funny. Only thing I wish toyota did was make the new tacoma lighter. Instead we got a smaller engine, with a truck that weighs about 300 pounds more.

Check 2007 4x4 Double Cab LB vs 2016 DCLB and see yourself.
You are trying to make an excuse.
The fact is that towing and payload is less on 2016 DCLB than what it was on2005 - 2007 DCLB (Same model sizes) AKA 10 F..ing years ago.

Which is very very pathetic. Name another company that produced car that is worse than one produced 10 years earlier.

Towing Capacity for V6 4x4 Models is 6000 to 6500 depending on configuration. Payload for Access Cabs is 1150lbs and DoubleCabs is 950. You can see all the specs on Toyota.ca

That's canadian and the link isn't working for me..not sure if it's different for usa or not. Is that for 2nd or 3rd gen? I'm guessing 2nd gen since the towing capacity for 3rd gen goes up to 6800.

Wrong again. Check out auto-brochures.com and look at the official literature from Toyota. Gen 2 = 6500 lbs, Gen 3 = 6800 lbs.

Guess by your own standard that proves the Gen 2 is a "worse car".

    here is a link to 07 4x4.

Now Find me where in Toyota brochure 2016 4x4 DCLB has 6800 Towing capacity.

I am willing to bet money that you will not find it.
    6800 is for 2016 2wd access cab

One can never have too many light bars.
Wait until the fall and get the 2017. Hopefully some of the kinks will have been worked out.

You do realize that the change in tow ratings have nothing to do with the truck. But the reason ratings changed was due to the SAE J2807 standard. Toyota was the first truck manufacturer to use this standard. And as a result the tow ratings of their vehicles went down. If they had implemented the standards sooner your 2007 would have had a lower rating as well.

4x4 Double cab long bad 2016 V6 AT is 6400 lb vs same truck but 2007 is 6500 lb towing capacity.
Payload on 2016 DCLB 4x4 V6 AT is 1175 lb vs same truck but 2007 is 1370 lb

10 years ago Tacoma had better specs ... facts....

Am I the only one that doesn't see any link? If you read what I wrote I said the 2016 Tacoma has a towing capacity of 6800 pounds. I also said I'm pretty sure it's an access cab and 2WD. How can an 07 double cab long bed 4x4 have a towing capacity of 6800 pounds when according to Wikipedia it's 6500 pounds? I doubt Wikipedia is wrong when I can't even see any proof of what you're saying. I remember watching videos and reading articles that states the 2016 Tacoma has a higher towing capacity.

    You didn't provide a link.

If you would actually like one, here you go http://www.auto-brochures.com/toyota_trucks.html

Sorry the 6800 lbs is for a 2016 AC, for the 2016 DC it's 6700 lbs....still more than the 2007. So the 2007 is still "worse".

Its a poor excuse, payload is almost 200 lb higher on 2007 and that has nothing to do with Towing standards... fact..

Well i just looked at both the 07 2wd and 07 4wd double cab long bed and I'm seeing 6500 towing capacity.

Page 21 on 2wd pdf file and page 19 on 4wd pdf.

Just went onto toyotas website for 2016 models.

Towing capacity for 2016 tacoma trd sport 2wd double cab long bed is 6600 pounds, while 4wd is 6400 pounds..all autos.

    not sure whats the point,
    So lets repeat the question
Does 2007 DCLB 4x4 V6 AT have more towing capacity and payload, than a 2016 DCLB 4x4 V6 AT ( same truck) ?

    Yes ?
    No?
    Maybe?

    Case closed.
Truck produced 10 years later should be better, period.
This is not a Yugoslavia's Yugo.

Do you know how to read? I never mentioned anything about payload. The point is you are wrong. You said the 2007 double cab long bed 4x4 can't tow 6800, it can't as it tows 6500 pounds.

Sure, the 07 double cab long bed 4x4 tows 6500 while the 2016 in same condig tows 6400.

BUT in 2wd same config, the 07 tows 6500 while the 2016 tows 6600.

Point is 2016 has a higher towing capacity which is 6800 while the 2007 is 6500.

Only in 1 config is where the 07 has a higher capacity which is 100 pounds in 4wd, while the 2016 has 100 pounds higher in 2wd.

I already explained to you that the ratings have changed. Just because you decide to ignore those facts doesn't make you argument valid. Fact!

I never said 2007 has 6800 lb, What I said is that 2007 DCLB 4x4 V6 AT has better towing and payload than the same truck 2016, isn't that a truth ?

Really payload rating changed how ?
