Here is some baseline data that i did with the mods i have done so far. Pretty simple but I figure it is a good start.
All tests were done on a 2% incline

    Stock tacoma data
    0-60 mph: 10.1 seconds
    Quarter mile: 19.2 seconds
    Engine noise: nominal

    Stock tacoma with TRD exhaust
    0-60 mph: 9.7 seconds
    Quarter Mile: 18.8 seconds
    Engine noise: developed a growl

    TRD exhaust, TRD CAI
    0-60: 8.9 seconds
    Quarter Mile: 17.6 seconds
Engine noise: Roars at full throttle

Throttle response has definitely improved, but working against elevation and cold, it was a little skewed. I have noticed a big change in passing ability while driving in the mountains (10,000 ft plus)
These are pretty simplistic, but it should help a couple of people in deciding upon doing these upgrades. The biggest change was of course the sound (which is really badass IMHO).

After Christmas I will update with some more info, as I am getting it tuned/dynoed and putting a programmer on it to see what else I can get out of it.

If you want your truck to be louder, put this stuff on, if you are looking for massive performance gains, I would recommend putting a V8 in it.

Hopefully this is a good start to my contributions, any suggestions are definitely welcome.

    Have fun in your Tacos!

I call BS. Post your timeslips. There's no way a CAI and exhaust drops your 1/4 mile time by almost 2 seconds. 2 seconds is a HUGE drop in 1/4 mile times.

I said it was a guess, i was using a stop watch. This was a first attempt, I can't tell you that the numbers are completely reliable, there is a lot of human error associated.

My point was if you want noise, get the upgrades.

The only one that I am completely confident in is the last one, as it was done with a scanner thing.

a stop watch wtf??? get a Gtech pro ss or rr and then you will get some real numbers. Good luck and I still say the cai's are a waste of $$$

Even the G-tech's aren't very reliable. Timeslips from the dragstrip are the only reliable means. That and dyno numbers.

My last car was a turbo honda accord. My 1/4 mile times dropped 2 seconds after going from N/A to turbo which added about 70 hp and over 100 ft lbs of torque.

Holy cow, so I think that my numbers are bad for everything except the last. Thanks for the advice, I will go get them done correctly

No worries. :D Just thought I would give you a personal real life example on how much power it takes to drop your times 2 seconds.

A 2 second drop in 1/4 mile for me would cost $25k + I just sent my 598 to a guy who claims he can find an additional 100 hp at a cost. Head/intake work, tune carbs, freshen up and 4 dyno pulls....$8000. Thats not encluding worn or broken parts they find during the tare down

I live in CO and have the iphone app and its pretty accurate if you wanna try it. I use to drag race so I used it in my WRX and it matched my slips pretty close.

Even timeslips are not very good because traction changes so much, and temperature/humidity too.

Unless you do all the same day, even dyno numbers are not that good...

I understand. But by using the G-tech you are essentially trying to mimic what you would ultimately do at the dragstrip. At the dragstrip the consistency is left to the driver. Dyno numbers are pretty accurate because generally you are doing all of your pulls on the same day and the environmental conditions aren't going to differ all that much because you will be indoors 90% of the time.

yeah if you can do the engine mods the same day, then the dyno is the most accurate (for numbers only). Even dragstrip if you can swap the parts the same day you should have a pretty good idea if you remove the reaction time from the different passes.
