Eibach 1.6 springs

I think I may have recieved the wrong springs.

I ordered a set of the Eibach 1.6 springs to use on my 04 Taco thinking I would be able to get 3" of lift on my truck. I saw that on Toytec.

The springs that came in the box don't fit inside the upper mounting bracket of my truck. The diameter is too large. I didn't order from Toytec, but I assume this is the same product (Eibach 8292.620) that Toytec sells.

Can anyone give me the dimensions of the Eibach 1.6 springs?

Also, there are two numbers stamped on the springs. They are (232283) & (2894.601). Does this match what anyone else has? If they don't, these will be going back.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

This alone means they are not correct for your truck. I'll bet they are for 2nd Gen Tacomas (2005-2010). Send 'em back.

 

Yes, I knew they are for second gen. from the start, but according to Toytec, the ones they sell are compatible with both second and first gen.

Anyone got the diameter for the 2nd gen springs?

Roughly 4 3/8" or 4 1/4" diameter

 

Chop....the Outside diameter of the springs that I got is about 5 and 1/4" Are the measurements u gave inside or outside?

I guess this could be checked against stock springs too if anyone has them laying around.


Benca, that is the part number I have, but I don't really think I got the right springs in the box.

Outer diameter, actually I think it may be closer to 4 3/16". I couldn't see any part numbers on my springs to compare with yours, mine must be blocked from easy view. If the springs you have are OD 5" + they are more likely for a full size truck (Tundra or Chevy/ Dodge/ Ford).

 

Just phone Eibach and quote them the Part#, they will tell you.

The number on the actual spring itself does not match what you are telling me. it has the following number on it: 2894.601 and it also has the number 232283 stamped on it. The only spring that has the 2894 series number is for an 07+ Wrangler.

Wrangler (Incl. X, Sahara, Rubicon) 07-08 2894.640

They don't make any springs for the 04 and below models, but from what I found at the Toytec site, the ones for 05+ Tacos will give an 04 three inches of lift.

I think you may be right about them being for larger trucks....if the coils were 4 3/16" They would surely fit in the upper shock mount. I'm guessing someone at Eibach packed/labeled them wrong. The outside of the box actually has the correct part number 8292.620.

I guess I will have to return and exchange them for some that have the correct contents in the box. The sad part is that I had pulled everything apart before I figured it out. Oh well........at least I got the Camburg UCA's in.

 

The same thing happened to me. I ordered mine from automotiveconcepts.net. I'm still trying to get my money back. I've been sending e-mails to them. If I don't get a reply back tomorrow, I'm going to start calling them.

 

Get on them.......When the seller was sending my replacements I had to wait 2 weeks for them to even get them in. The box was a complete different size. Good Luck!
