Retrofit: what should I do?

I wanna do a retrofit on my truck but I'm not sure whether I want to do it myself or buy an already completed set either used or new from one of the vendors/members on here. I'm sure I could get it done, But the problem is I'm a slight perfectoinist, and I did the BHLM and some of the minor flaws in that still tick me off, but I kind of rushed the BHLM to be fair.

Basically what I was thinking was buy everything my self, including a new set of housings (OEM or depo) and do it myself at my own pace following information online. Or like I said I could just buy a completed set.

Anyone have any similar experiences or advice to help guide me?

 

Your best bet is to buy a spare and either work on your oem one, if it's in excellent codition, or work on the spare you bought. Retrofits take time. Rush it, and it will show.

what do you think about using a set of depo headlights to do the retrofit? my oem ones arent in the best condition, and new oem housings are $$$$

Go for it. Plenty of retrofitters use aftermarket ones. You're retrofitting it anyways, condensation wouldn't be an issue since you're going to reseal them yourself!

 

Definitely get a spare pair of headlights. If you do it on the ones you have now, you're gonna rush like my first pair I did. It is a pretty straight forward process. Don't let it intimidate you
