Nice, that's good it made your noise go away. I am either gonna wrap the outside of the speaker cover with double sided tape or put a small felt strip on the a-pillar the speaker cover is rubbing up against causing the terrible noise.

Finally had a chance to put some of the new equipment through a test run on an actual predator hunt.

First step was to load up the All-Weather Truck Vault with gear. Firearms, Ammo, Thermal, NOD's (night observation device) and predator calls...

    image.jpg
    image.jpg

We managed to call-up and kill a giant Badger.
    image.jpg
    image.jpg
Check out the claws vs .223 comparison. Stud Badger!
    image.jpg

After that, the weather turned to shit. Snow, rain and lots of mud.
    image.jpg
    image.jpg
    image.jpg

We still managed to call in a few coyotes anyway and get a good idea of the real potential on the gear.

I'm the beard on the right. Lol!

I have a few adjustments to make on the roof rack and lighting. I'm also going to add some airbags to the rear leafs and I'm installing some tactical seat covers ASAP.

Mine has been at a dealership for 2 weeks; will end up with a new transmission, transfer case, and transfer case ECU by the time it's repaired. Here's the tread on it: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/broken-taco.422272/

I think you may be onto something there; I had an 86' Toyota truck (pre Tacoma days) with the 22R motor and that thing could NOT be destroyed. Being young and stupid, I literally jumped it repeatedly, then slammed it to the ground (high school / college lowrider days), raced/redlined and topped out the speedometer on a regular basis, and generally abused it, and it still kept running like a champ. Only thing I ever did was change the oil, replaced an alternator, and a battery. I got it with 168K miles on it, put another 180K miles on it, and sold it 7 years later for $1000 less than I originally paid for it. That was my first Toyota experience and what made me a fan; sadly I'm not yet convinced that the newer generations are quite as bulletproof as the older ones.

Have you ever owned live stock? Have you ever had to pull half of a calf out of a cow because the coyotes tore the head and front legs off before the cow could deliver? We don't have badgers in Texas but they are diggers like an armadillo so another question.. Ever hit an armadillo hole on a tractor, truck, horse, 4 wheeler or just stepped off into one when walking? Point being is they are over populated, destroy land and livestock. To some of America protecting our livestock and supporting our families is more important than a mange infested coyote.

Yes, those are the 3 inch and nfabs. I like them a lot and I'm glad I got them, 3 inch is definitely the way to go. They do stick out far enough especially where the footsteps are, but I haven't let anybody get close enough to me to try them.
I've had it for four or five months and the wife hasn't even driven it yet (her choice)

That's the gear you need to come on down here to Texas to kill some feral hogs.

They're predators - don't let their tasty nature fool you. They prey on hippie vegan food supplies, and the vegans have their place in the food chain too (albeit down at the bottom).

They're actually pretty mean and destructive creatures, and you are welcome to come kill as many as you wish.

I prefer a 45-70 for hog hunting. It's not a long-range cartridge by any means but a Speer 400 gr flat nose will bring them down every time.

There're some ranches out by my brother's place that hunt them from an R-22 helicopter using ARs and 100-rd mags because, let's face it, when you're hanging out the side of a chopper who wants to change mags? The ranchers' goal is elimination, .223 is good for babies, and they make LITERALLY a ton of babies.

They also have Barretts, but there are safety concerns for them because of the proximity of the neighbors. They'll drop a big sow, though.

The funny thing is that pigs are better off road vehicles than the usually massive ranch Chevys and Fords these guys normally drive. We should explain to them the virtues of a Tacoma...

How's cleanup on that vinyl? Any permanent scratches or anything from mud dirt or debris?

Also great pictures! Sweet toys! Nice beard too.

Not really. It doesn't even come close on the outside of the hood. Its snug in a few places underneath, but nothing rubbing / at risk of scratching.
