Hey guys. Current 2011 FJ Owner....former '04 Taco Xtra cab owner. Been thinking about selling the FJ for a Double Cab 2nd Gen Taco and thought I'd join here to get some inspiration and browse the classifieds.

Might as well get my post count up. Pulled the trigger on a 2012 double cab 4x4 TRD Sport.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld.

You thinking about keeping the FJ or did they offer you something stupid for trade in value?

Unfortunately the FJ is gone. I sold it the same day as I bought the Tacoma. The person that bought it made me an offer that I couldn't refuse which is sort of what pushed me to buy the Tacoma. The FJ was my favorite vehicle I've ever owned by a long shot. I'm gutted to see it go, but it just wasn't getting used for its intended purpose anymore and we needed something with four doors that can do a little hauling.

Glad you got a fair offer but it can relate to the feeling when you sell something you really appreciate. Hopefully you can get some reading in here and come up with a plan to make your Tacoma into the perfect truck for you.

 My intention was to keep it stock-ish but you guys are making it difficult.

Where's the nearest "What's the biggest tire size I can run with no rub?" thread? :deadhorse:

Welcome, I wanted an FJ a few years before getting my Tacoma but had basically the same need and didn't get it. Both are sweet though, you'll be happy with your new ride.

My better half had a new 07 fj, had it for seven years we loved it, I always had a 4 door Tacoma during that time period, gotta side with the Tacoma, I believe you will like it better in the long haul! Both are fine rides, just a matter of what fits your needs best.

Both great looking vehicles, I don't think the Tacoma will disappoint you. Congrats!
