Morning everyone by the way!

 

Mornin'... been at work for 3 hrs already... 4pm won't come fast enough...

 

I quit my job every morning in the shower before I come to work....

 

i work from home, so i never really fully stop working

 

My company has a rather strict "no telecommuting" policy that is very outdated (especially for a software company) but my boss is fine with it. I work from home a few times a month. Much better than being in the office IMO

 

i'd think a software company especially would encourage it
in charlotte boa had set up satellite offices for people who work from home, they could go use a meeting room or private office space with printers etc. i kinda wish i had something like that

 

Go get a real dark tan, too.

 

That's a cool setup - hadn't heard of something like that before.

Now with Skype and everything being online, it's just so easy to work from home.

 

yeah i'm in a software division, but all of our companies are software and media so we have a lot of people that work in the field. i don't think i could go back

 

At my job we have a program called Cisco Jabber. It lets you access your work phone through your PC which allows you to make and receive phone calls from just about anywhere as long as you can get online through VPN.

I've done that once or twice when we've had a snowstorm, and I had to stay home because I fucked up my eye ball taking out my contact.

 

The only downfall is out VPN infrastructure if very old and accessing some large files can't be done remotely. And since I am an analyst, I use almost solely large files. I think it's their way of making sure we come into the office...

 

Yeah... could be, could be. One company I deal with, my contact there telecommutes every Wednesday. I'd be up for doing something like that! Especially during European soccer seasons, so I could catch a few games that go on mid week. And especially this summer with the European Championship taking place in France. There's going to be games on just about everyday for a few weeks!

 

I would absolutely do that. I've been thinking of looking for jobs, but everything is in Boston and I don't want to spend an hr+ commuting each way. I've told myself the only way I would work for a company in Boston is if I could telecommute 3-4 days a week.

 

my friend who lives in attleboro has something like that. his office is in cambridge but he can work from home a couple days a week

Same here, been at work for a little over 3 hours but I'm not sure my light at the end of the tunnel is going to be as early as 4PM. Pretty sure at 4PM, that light will be the train coming at me cause I'll be scrambling to get my shit done!

 

I don't think I would be productive if I worked from home. id end up making my dog duct tape armor or something stupid.

 

duct tape dog armor has to be your million dollar idea. bet people would buy that

 

i'll admit that i don't stay 100% focused at all times (clearly i'm on here), but i'll take calls from customers at all hours, i'm constantly checking my work email, and i'll find myself still at my desk at 9pm sometimes
