I have some friends that work from home 100% of the time. They have said it's important for them that there is a separation between "the office" and "home" and basically while they are working, they aren't home

 

That might be tough to do. Maybe not, but I'm sure for some people it might be. Especially if you have kids and they're home as well, etc.

 

Three day weekend for me. 3:30 couldn't come fast enough for me yesterday. I wish I could telecommute but I support several production lines and, obviously, they aren't at home with me.

my ex is in the same line of work and honestly that was a big issue for us. i admit that i have trouble turning off work sometimes, but if it's OUR time i put both phones away. we would be on vacation, even out of the country, and he'd still be trying to work

 

A neighbor works from home 100% of the time. They have an office set up and she'll basically lock herself in there. When she's working, there's no bothering her. When her daughter was younger we'd have her come up to our house to play with my daughter and essentially watch her for them.

 

I couldn't telecommute. I'm WAY too easily distracted. And I've always got a 'honey-do' list on the fridge, so I just know that my 30 minute lunch break would turn into a 3-hour mess of distraction.

Are they stainless, or chromed?

 

Some peeps are just "workaholics" and can't help it. It's that thing of always staying on top of whatever might be coming up at any given time. I'm the same way. I take my work laptop home every day, and at night, after we do our nightly routine of eating, feeding the kids, baths, put them to bed, etc, I hop on the laptop and do work for a bit. Check emails, follow up on things, mainly to make sure I didn't miss anything during the day and can start the following day fresh, with no unread emails in my inbox.

 

i appreciate that he's dedicated to his work, and ambitious, and a hard worker. i think those are great qualities. but the first half of the relationship we only saw each other a few hours a week, so it was really annoying when he couldn't stop working for those couple of hours. then when i moved in with him we spent time in the same house together, but we didn't actually spend time together. i don't know. he says he recognizes his errors and is willing to correct it but i think sometimes it's just who you are and can't be changed

 

Agreed and understand. Hopefully it won't affect your relationship.

I talked to him when I was in the market for sliders for my Tacoma. I was going to order from him as well but he doesn't (or at least didn't) make bolt on's. Very nice looking stuff though

 

Well then it probably won't affect your relationship!

 

Actually just nice super clean bare metal--this guys puts a lot of attention and care into his work for his customers and it shows--all the welds are "eat off the surface" clean and if you check out his work on the site you'll see some interesting reinforcement work he performs on the sliders

 

Oh... oh... OH! So that was your ex then, not your current?! My bad, misunderstood which one you were talking about. Or just plain and simple misread it. My bad!

 

I think you're right on that still Rob, I figured on the 4Runner I didn't care about having them welded on cuz I figured it would be beefier that way for the woods

 

what do you guys use to store all your chemicals? i have a ton of cans of stuff for the bikes and truck and they're just kinda in a box right now. do they make racks or anything for this kind of stuff?

 

Going to have them powder-coated? Or just painted?

I built a custom shelf with high sides to hold everything in and mounted it on the wall to my garage. That way they're all up out of the way, and the walls hold them in so I don't have bottles and cans crashing down on the floor and bursting when I'm careless.

 

I store mine loose and uncapped outside next to a stream....cause fuck you EPA that's why.

In all honesty, mine are downstairs in the basement cabinets. Wish I had a garage for such problems
