Buzzy Vibration at certain RPM's..read before buying!

Ask them!

I was told "it's normal" "might be the engine mounts, just needs to be broken in - no real issue".

 

Keep us updated when the part arrives... I don't see how it could be intake related but at least they are going on a lead..
My vibration and many others vary day to day so id expect it will come back to normal unfortunately. let us know otherwise though..

 

Is this issue only with v6 versions. I have read a couple posts with people claiming the 4 cylinder has issues as well but only a couple.

We've seen it in all bed length, cab lengths, 4x4, 2x4, and both transmissions.

 

It's V6 only issue.

Well, folks reported the issue being temperature dependent. Intake issues are often temperature dependent. Hmmm.

Yeah, got carried away there.. Meant AT and MT which ruled out the transmission.

You did, so that means it is in the Mt and AT and isn't a characteristic of the AT. Maybe I worded that wrong..

While monitoring other forums, I keep hearing about these fixes that are in the works....I'll believe it when I see it; however, what is encouraging to me is that we are no longer being 'totally' blown off and some people are at least acknowledging that this is an issue. I felt like a lone wolf along with DRBANE at the beginning and now at least feel vindicated that others recognize this, too.

Fingers crossed that they can figure this out because, as of now, I'm only using the truck for local driving and the wife is annoyed that I take our (read:her!) TAH for any longer trips.

 

After reading that article on intake resonator and reading how the Atkinson cycle works I suppose it has a chance of helping. Soon as dealer calls me letting me know part is in I'll ask him what the exact procedure is...

Btw I don't buy it's just intake resonance, that would be nuts. It's maybe something about intake that negatively affects the injection/valvetrain/exhaust systems that actually causes vibration.

 

I agree there is something going on with these engines in that rpm range. Maybe the improved/altered intake may have a cause/effect on the way the engine/exhaust behave. Hopefully...
