Odyssey or Optima Group 25, 35, and 34... Group 34's are a tight squeeze but they work!

I was there during Coops install. I was very impressed with Matt's set up and install. He spares no expense on his kits and it shows. I cant wait to get my kit and tray from Matt. Here are a few of the pictures I took.

Wow, what an awesome, well made kit. Looks like quite the package. Newbie question here though. At what point of adding accessories and such should I look into adding a second battery? And should those accessories be wired to the second one, or does the second battery just kick in and flow through the first when needed? Thanks guys. I´ve tried doing a little research, but couldn´t find any clear explanations.

    @Taco_Nick

Honestly... and this is no sales pitch... A well thought out electrical system STARTS with the appropriate base system. If you plan on adding a bunch of electronics, it's way easier to install dual batteries, auxiliary fuse block, and possibly a higher output alternator at the very beginning. Otherwise, you'll do it later and have to rewire everything to your new auxiliary system.

If you're running accessories that will only be used while the vehicle is running, a high output alternator would be the first thing on my mind. If you plan on adding accessories that will primarily be used with the vehicle off (refrigerator, inverter, winch, etc.), then dual batteries really need to be on the fore front of your build.

Dual batteries are also real nice insurance if you're wheeling or camping with only one vehicle. Nothing is worse than getting stuck in the middle of nowhere because of a dead battery... just because you wanted to listen to the radio at camp or set up your tent with your headlights on.

^^ this is the exact reason that I bought my dual battery set up from Matt I just bought my truck less than six months ago haven't had much time to do a lot to it But I know what I want the end result to be. so before I spend money on all the other stuff I needed a good base to start with. Mats dual battery system is absolutely top-of-the-line, And I wouldnt of settled for anything less!

Odyssey Group 25 and 35 work the best. Optima Group 25's and 35's work with the supplied spacer or tell me ahead of time and I can cut the tie-down rods for you to fit an Optima.

Odyssey and Optima Group 34's will also fit but they're real tight.

Just got my passenger side mount installed, the hardware came with two nylock nuts that are larger than everything else. What were those for?

Ah yes. You were one of the lucky few that received those... they were a mistake. They were supposed to be for the tie-down, but I grabbed the wrong size.

Some folks were worried about the ability to tighten the plastic knobs by hand... and we agree. I am no longer providing the knobs with the tie-down. Instead I am providing locking hardware, either a nylock or toothed flange nuts.

We will be sending out a small bag of replacement hardware to those folks that received knobs on their trays.

Ah, ok. Not too worried about it. Kinda like the knobs. Ill check them to make sure they don't get loose or maybe throw a spring washer under them to make sure they don't loosen.

Yes. Very soon. I have a couple designs Im working with...

How many people who are interested in the Drivers side double tray would mind cutting off a small tab of the fuse box leg? I strive to make my trays as minimally invasive as possible, but... with a small modification to the fuse box support, I can make the tray much simpler and keep costs down.

    Thoughts?

Have not looked at the OEM fuse box today, but as long as it remains stable without the tab then yes this would be a viable solution.

I'll try and get a pic later but yes, it would be completely stable. Just have to shave a bit off the leg. I think this is the route we'll be going.

Now all you need is an independent volunteer to test one out for you....

Only joking, I think your making a great product and from the images it looks that quite a bit of time and thought went into it.
