Load Range "C" (OR Close) off-road tire options..?

Got them mounted and I love the look. A bit heavy but not bad and the V8 helps a lot. These things are silent on the freeway. Had them up to 70 and I had to turn the radio off and roll the window down to hear anything. The ride is also very comfy even wth the E load range. Definitely recommend them.

Have you tried running these at different psi levels = different results?

They fit well and no rubbing for day to day driving.

 

Spent some time running anywhere from 30 to 40. Ultimately chalk test won out. Definitely softer but would wear badly under 35 I think.

 

I will be getting a OR DCLB soon with a 2-3 inch lift (either BOSS/OME/5100). I like the idea of a off-road tire in the C rating as well. I would love to stay with the ko2 tire but am unsure if the 265/70/17 C rated tire would look weird/be big enough for the lift. Would the 275/70/17 E rated tire be a far better option? Will my suspension upgrade help prevent the complaint by some of the "dump truck" ride in a 275 E rated tire? Would love to fit the bigger tire on my truck but not at the expense of bad ride. HELP ME!

I see you got the same tires in a non-LT version, that is what I am getting, do they look almost the same as these pics of the LT 265/75/16?

 

I agree. One thing I'm a little worried about is related to Wildpeak's table from a couple pages back:



Per the specs on the Falken site the non-LT A/T3s I ordered only have 14/32 of tread depth, which puts them below the bottom of the chart and even below the OEM tires. Can they have shallow tread depth and still look aggressive enough?

I am looking forward to those pictures, as well. Debating between the LT and non LT. If the 14/32 tread depth looks aggressive, I'll save myself some money and weight and go with that option.

Saw the WP non LT Size at 14/32nds. That is why they are cheap and look like they should come on a explorer off the factory line. Believe they are still 46.5 lbs with a shallower tread. General Grabber AT@ is 16/32s and only 41 lbs with 6ply and more than BFG KO with full length sipes unlike the wild peak. And when worn down the fingers in between the tread really grabs the snow on top of the full sipes. Look them up they are the best reviewed tire by someone being honest.
This first two were one of my sets. Have had 3 or 4 cannot remember.

So the Lt at3w is has deeper tread and will wear faster than the non-Lt because the non-Lt has silica infused in the rubber.
The Lt should weight less faster than non-Lt. How much weight does the tread account for is my question?

 

How did this load range C thread turn into a Falken AT3W thread? They don't even have a load range C offering, do they? Lots of attention for a tire that doesn't exist from a manufacturer that hasn't produced stellar A/T tires in the past.

 

I'm partial towards a tall skinny tire for my off roading needs, and I'm considering going to a 255. Stock size is 265/65/17 on my TRD Sport. I have a TRD Pro lift, pretty mild, but it looks like there's room for a 255/75/17 in there. Duratrac makes an SL - is that equavalent to a C ? I'm not too interested in losing highway drive ability as that's where my truck spends most of its time! It's my only vehicle and DD. The other issue is speedometer variance, but I guess you just get used to that. No one ever seems concerned about it. It's too bad the speedometers couldn't be recalibrated.

It'll fit. I think that's a perfect size for a tacoma daily driver weekend off roader with a bit of a lift. I don't think SL is same as load range C (6 ply). I think SL (standard load) is a P rated tire (weaker softer sidewalls). Could be wrong.

 

Yeah, my truck looks similar to yours, a silver double cab 2015. What tires are you running, Neverstuck?

I have nothing but good thinks to say about my Grabber AT2s it might be something you want to look into.
