I kept atleast two filters, right when I took my truck of the lot I change my air filter and bought a k&n filters. You can buy a cleaning kit. I put the stock air filter while waiting for my k&n filter to dry and then swap it. That way I can drive my truck around.

Isnt that the same as stock?
I just feel like that way you would also get dirt particles on the wrong side of the filter

My filter is different then yours and has plastic on the bottom that acts a frame I hit that on the bottom and it gets most of the dust out, then you can wipe whatever came off the tree off of the plastic. I just used my tree as an example. Another potential option is a clean piece of cardboard on the ground. You'll get more dust out of the filter than you will getting it in hitting it on something

Yeah my next filter will be a better one. I just had to get a new filter at the time ASAP (not getting into that story  ) and couldn't afford more.

I thought I read somewhere the oil-cleaned filters could cause an issue... MAF Sensor problems?

It is a stock intake but I'm using aftermarket filters, trd filter that came with my Super charge. K&n filter is better made compare the TRD. I swap the two

Nha as long as you don't soak your filters with oil you will be fine. Lol People also run with oil catch can which is mod that I need to do.

I thought that all air intakes are technically "CAI". That is why they come in a heat shield box and get air from outside the engine bay.
Also what is your guys and gals view on aftermarket CAI's letting a lot more dirt into your engine? That makes me weary cause we off road. Where this is a whole lot more dust and dirt to get sucked in. Just curious not knocking anything

I'll just be Debbie Downer as usual but your engine sucks up all that oil in to the intake plenum and destroys valves and sensors eventually. Go easy on the oil with them things. They were developed for off road use only. Not meaning dirt only, more like race tracks etc. Engines that get frequent rebuilds pretty much. If you look at real dirt trucks they have dust condoms on them as well as the reusable K&N air filters. Usually oil free ones at that. Oem is a better choice unless you keep up on the maintenance.
    Carry on lol

Part of why I haven't touched "high flow" anything yet. I've read a lot of the "high flow" and cold air intakes will let dust into the intake.

It makes your engine grawl, Yeap attract more dust. They say adds more HP but you can't tell the difference. I'm not going to that option coz I want my engine as stock as possible, don't want the noise, also if I decide to do snorkel I'm better on stock intake

Fuuuck I already have enough of an issue with that as it is. My breather hose from the engine has been spewing oil into my intake. Any idea how to fix this?

@dtaco06 I get what you mean about the secondary filter but with that filter all I see is: non-serviceable.

That means if I'm relying on it as a final stopping point then it's a forever stopping point. What happens when it gets fouled up?
