Airfilters expensive?? I see them both for $18 on Amazon to get OEM. I wanna say they're even cheaper at the dealer(s) near me...

You bang it against a tree. Interesting. But effective?

Did not know this. I have K&N, but I've never cleaned it myself. Thanks for the info Danny!

I'll have to look into it!I heard dealer's charge $40 for the air filter and $20 for the cabin filter!I'm not sure though!Definetly ridiculous if that's the case!:notsure::facepalm:

Dang, really? I think Miller in Anaheim doesn't charge that much... It's about time I change mine anyway, I'll roll through and pick them up at Claremont Toyota on my way home today. Will post later.

If you goto dealership to have them replace make sure it's really replace. Coz my two years complimentary Toyota care, they never change my air filter not cabin filter. Not even once.

Oh i'm on top of it!I check everything after service and have not had any issues or false advertised repairs or replacements.

The only thing i've ever had happen was i lifted my hood and there was a empty bottle quart of oil sitting between the battery and fuse box!:facepalm:I gave the service writer shit for it!I usually pop the hood in the service bay before i leave and look under my truck! Why not it's my baby!:thumbsup:After my extended Toyota care runs out i may end up doing the service's myself!I used to like doing it on my previous vehicles!

Forcing air through it pushes the dirt deeper through the filter making it easier to get sucked into the intake.

Used to have two filters and swap when one is being cleaned. No vehicle down time and clean the dirty one at your leisure.

Look, the things I'm saying are true. However will everyone doing these things experience engine failures? No. But after 12 years of both factory and aftermarket training.... I've seen the failures and damage that hack maintenance do to vehicles. Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it just don't expect sympathy from me if something associated with what I'm Bitchin about happens to you lol.

Agree with this 100%. Seen it all too. Although i cant say i never used a air to blow out a K&N filter. Only thing is you blow from inside out.

I only used the Toyota care 'cause I paid for it, once I started working in the IE from Orange County I burnt through that thing in a few months. I've since done all my own maintenance whenever possible, bigger stuff that will take time and tools I don't have/can't justify buying I let go to a shop near me I trust.
