This is where I'm at too. I haaaaate math, I'm terrible at algebra. Geometry.. no problem. My job and the field I want to get into more (design/engineering) obviously requires a higher knowledge of it. I struggle with some things, others comes easy. Like you I'm a hands on learner and have learned a ton by trial and error and by just getting the experience and exposure. I plan on taking some classes though, along with some certs.

As of now, I'm entry level design and engineering. CAD design, CNC programming, setting up and running the CNC's, 3D printers, etc. But need more time and some schooling.. with some certs to really take advantage. cant complain.. before this job I didnt have any exposure unfortunately.

I forget what form of engineering it is, but my buddy was telling me there's a discipline of engineering that all they do is design ways to make things work better and simpler. Im always trying to find the easiest way to do things. I think its only fitting I go that route.

industrial for sure. My stepdad has an Industrial engineering degree. used to work for palo verde designing and building the powerplant. started going to school for graphic design myself, then moved down to the valley and never finished.

We were working on getting our department renamed and reorganized as a R&D title.. would have been sweeeeeet.

Kind of regret not going to the poly campus, but then again I chose ASU without touring any of the campuses.

I had no choice. Main campus was the only option as Embry-Riddle was out. Could have taken some classes at Luke, but no labs. I might go back for a masters in mgmt out there, but I hope to finish with a masters here first. Its all about timing at that point

Would have been cool if you did. How far along are you? What shops do you have there? I know there's a few things but I think poly has a bit more. There's also the tevh shop not too far from poly we get free admission to.

Yessir! Unfortunately, that's only tempe really. Not to many attractive ladies at poly.

    Everyone's a damn Mechanical Engineer.

I am a Mech Engineer for a Defense Contractor in Tucson. I did lots of design all in ProE. Moving to bigger picture stuff now. Its funny when I started I would talk to older engineers who had jobs I wanted and they basically told me that you do not want to be a CAD driver for ever. Now I tell people what I am looking for. We are past the white sheet design so I have no desire to drive CAD.

Most engineering is solving problems. Being able to understand numbers is important. You don't need to be able to produce the analysis just be able to review and understand it. Manufacturing engineering is a lot of process development and problem solving. Systems might also be worth looking in to. Requirement understanding.

    Or these....^^^

1st gen tacomas/3rd gen 4runners don't have sway bar link holes on the spindle. It's more of a clamp around the spindle. But we'll probably just weld tabs to the spindle.
