I have a '16 Taco, but if it were not a choice, I'd get a Tundra. I had one and they're great trucks; just larger than I like and uses quite a bit of gas.

I had a 2010 gmc Sierra. Was a decent truck not worth the 33 grand I paid for it though. At 20000 miles I had to have my torque converter replaced because it failed. At 25k the exhaust literally fell of and had to be rehung. I recently got rid it at 40000 miles for the tacoma.

When the 14 4R Trail came out it was too expensive and hard to get at the time. That and the stupid cargo tray combined with the ancient 5 speed auto ultimately had me wait for how the new tacoma looked.

I almost got a Jeep but the terrible ride quality and my need for a small truck for my little garage left me with only one choice.

    If I had to buy/lease a vehicle tomorrow that wasn't a Tacoma it would probably be a '16 4Runner SR5 5 seater.

    I'd probably get a wrangler.

Why? You don't tell us what you expect from a truck or why you need a truck. Instead of another form of vehicle for example. I mean it's ok if you just 'want' it, but if you 'need' it for certain uses, and state those needs, it would help folks understand what you're after function wise.

Fantastic. What's wrong with keeping it?

Why? 'Just because' would be an expensive reason........

To your original question. If my lowly '13 were totaled today, yea, I'd look for another truck. One like it. Or maybe a 1st gen jewel. I've got no reason to buy new for how I use the vehicle.

My dad wants to take my current truck to mexico and help me get a new one.

As far as wants/needs u want a smaller size truck, full sizes are too big. 4x4 crew cab 4 door short bed with an off road package. While I don't go off roading atm I plan to and also live on a ranch.

Do you plan on having animals and other stuff. Most ranch stuff is quite heavy. Tractors Pens panels etc.

I don't think I could do the Ridgeline saw it in person and I just kept thinking to myself I would cross shop it with the new pilot or even the odyssey cause it's so similar. Not really sure what I would get, had a taco now have a 4Runner maybe Lexus ls460 and a 100 series

I almost bought the 2013 Nissan Pro4X 4 door. The Frontiers have a lot of options as far as tech and motorized accessories (seats, sunroof, etc...). I also really liked the performance and handling, they seem to be really solid little trucks.

Found a sweet deal on my 2014 Tacoma 4 door though and never looked back. No regrets!

Nine trouble free years with a Tacoma and you're considering a GM truck? Have you heard the expression "rude awakening"?

Had 12 trouble free years with my 04 Tacoma but my 16 just spent two weeks in the dealers service bay. Past performance is no guarantee.

I've had trouble free GM vehicles my whole life, I only went with Toyota because the Tacoma has a good rep and I couldn't afford/didn't need a full size
