Ummm yeah, it is over $600 for the tonneau option. If you paid for it and did t get it you got hosed.

I would call the dealer and tell them that you have paid for the cover with the purchase of the vehicle. Since they didn't deliver you want to be compensated for the price of the cover.

How easy is it to remove? Can one person remove it with no problem? I love this cover, but want one that isn't too difficult to remove.

About a month ago I installed the Extang Trifecta ($350). I am very happy with it. I had an Extang snap on my previous Tacoma for 8 years and no issues (never doing the snap thing again). I am getting a little water in the bed but no big deal. The whole cover comes off in less than 5 minutes.

Any way two days ago I took the box out of the attic to dispose of it now that I am happy with the cover and a little packet with two 3M pads and additional instructions fell out. The instructions say to remove the cab bed rail and stick the pads on the ends to seal the gap and probably stop the water from coming in. Simple right - 5 torx screws. Well I am guessing aluminum screws as I stripped the head on one without very much effort and ended up drilling the head off to get the rail off. Not happy with that. Now I have to try and get the shank out with an easy out. The screws were very hard to start. I am not sure whether they have lock tight or just reacting with the dissimilar metal of the pop in insert.

Just want to warn anyone else not to go at these screws with an impact driver. Just use a socket wrench and good torx socket bit.

My husband installed my new Extang Tri-fold 2.0. So far I am very happy with it. Solid, easy to use and the weather stripping seems great. It came with two small foam pieces to put in the bed gaps behind the cab. I have not been in the rain or have had to wash my truck since he installed it, so can't tell you how much or if it leaks. I can tell you it's on there as perfect as it gets, my husband is a tweaker:thumbsup:

I wanted a top mount because I have a bed divider that utilizes the rail system. I have also heard nothing but good things about Extang's customer service should there be an issue.IMG_6104.jpg IMG_6105.jpg

Just looking for some input. I am stuck between bakflip, revolver x2, and the fold-a-cover. I like the features of the fold-a-cover, but like the ability to have most of the bed available when needed like the bakflip and revolver. I am leaning a little more towards the bakflip, but not really stoked on the idea of adding holes in the bed. I would like it to be fairly watertight for transporting gear when its raining. I guess looking for a nudge in one direction or another.

I have a bakflip. I went to home depot to the plumbing department and bought some fittings for the drain hoses. If I remember correctly it was 3/8 to 1/4. I put the fittings into the hose then into the small holes that are already in the box. I didn't want to drill into a brand new truck either. So far I have had no problems.

I haven't had a need to remove the Diamondback, and probably won't because I can put stuff on top of it and strap it down. However, if I were to remove it I could do it with a second person in about 2 minutes. By myself I would remove it one door at a time and it would take me about 4 minutes. Also keep in mind that each side folds onto the other and can be strapped down. For anything that the Diamondback won't handle or that I don't want to lift that high, I use my single axle trailer.

Does the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 clear bed extender?

    Any leaks so far?

There is not a tonneau cover on the market that keeps water out of the truck bed. Unless you park in a garage during a thunderstorm.

    First post.

So I picked up my 16 DCSB TRD-OFF today at the dealer.

It was a factory order I placed a couple months ago. I ordered the truck with a factory tonneau cover. I know there's some ongoing issue with the factory cover and Toyota.

Well I picked it up today, and it's got a Extang solid fold 2.0 on it. My window sticker doesn't mention the cover at all. It's got all my other details, just no cover.

I'm not complaining, the Extang seems to be well made and gets good reviews. I'm going ask the dealer tommorrow about it but I'm curious if anyone else heard of this. Think maybe the dealer threw it on when the truck showed up without a cover?

I'm on the fence about the Extang 2.0 because of the textured panels. I looked at one and noticed how deep the texture was. Looks good now but what about all that dirt that will in time ruin the surface. I wish they would have made the surface a little smoother to make cleaning easier. You will have to scrub it with a brush to keep it clean. Too Bad!$.02

Im thinking about getting this one from ATC
    http://www.carid.com/2016-toyota-ta...-truck-covers-sxt-tonneau-cover-79389170.html

I had the factory one and it rained and went out and the seal where it folds, on the top, let a ton of water in truck. I know they are not 100% waterproof but it shouldn't be letting water floor in like it was and it was only on 1 part not anywhere else. And im not meaning the seal around truck bed, but the seal strip across the cover in middle. Dealer said nothing can be done with that seal, so may just get them to refund me since I have only had the truck for 2 weeks and just get the ATC one. it least looks like it will be more sealed than factory one.

I'm getting an Access Lorado installed on Monday, looks like a good under $500 option for me. I had one on my 2009 Tundra for the entire time I owned it till getting my Tacoma and the only issue I had was a plastic clip breaking, but it was replaced for free under the lifetime warranty.

I liked it a lot on my Tundra (the original Access that is) since I had the Crew Max with the 5.5 ft short bed and liked not having to remove a trifold to access the whole bed for large objects. It leaked a little around the sides but never enough to get cargo wet going down the road during a storm. Power washing it would get a decent bit wet on the sides, but that's about it. The velcro and roll function worked well and I never had it rip or tear. Minimal fade on the black too, still looked good when washed 6 years later.

Overall, it held up well in storms bad enough to break my rear window, looked good, and folded back to load large objects.

I'll update with pictures of the Tacoma. It looks like it mounts differently than my Tundra did with the deck rail system the Tacoma has. May limit functionality, we'll see.

As long as it's below the top of the bed rails it should be fine. This literally sits right on top. The only thing you might want to check its to make sure is how the bed extender installs versus where the clamps are installed for the tonneau cover. I am not familiar with how the bed extender installs.
Have not been able to test leaks as of yet. I keep my truck pretty clean all the time.

I had the Fold-A-Cover on my old truck. You can have 75% of the bed available in the folded position. When I needed the whole bed, it was easy to remove with one person. Just fold it up, remove 4 bolts and it's off. It was fairly water tight too, but I live in Southern CA and it never rains so what do I know?

I'm planning on getting another one for 3rd Gen but they're still not available. I'm starting to think about other options. That Switchblade sure is nice @Element4563 !
