Not a major issue but would like to resolve eventually. Every time I shut the door it sounds like the license plate or something is loose under the truck. I have isolated it to this

Mine does the same thing. I can hear it rattle when my rear sliding window is open and I go over a bump

Put some bumps in it and then you can annoy those on the outside

It already sounds like I have a band of monkeys in the bed playing snare drums with these crappy things

Actually went out and pounded a little on it today, not an issue on mine. Seems to be firmly on place.

I hope not Smitty, but after listening to yours, mine is no where that loose. Funny though, yesterday when I shut the rear door I thought I heard the same kind of sound. I had an ahh-haa moment after reading your post. Not sure what that sound was now, since I couldn't replicate it today.

    Maybe missing some clips??

Tap on it don't pound on it. Tap around on the inside. Maybe try the other side. All the clips look present. I don't know what would be missing. Maybe they aren't seated. I'll have to try to mess with it again in the morning. Pretty janky-ass fender liners in any case

Thanks, will try your technique in the morning. Maybe I am missing something and you are on to something that I'm experiencing too.

Don't like monkeys and snare drums! :D

Tried your technique, tap-tap-tap, and you are right, same looseness on the inside panel.

Looks like the rear portion will tighten up if you put a screw in the insert, where the extra oem mudflap screw goes.
The front portion is goofy on mine...I think. It has one insert actually holding it on; all the screws are behind the liner.

I checked mine today and no noise. I only have about 700 miles on the truck at this point though , The truck is driven about 3 miles a week on a dirt wash board road. The sound yours is making is pretty pronounced If it were mine I would definitely have the dealer take a look at it. Let us know what it turns out to be when it is solved.

Ugh! That's their answer to everything, it's like they don't want to stand behind the product they sell. My dealer said the vibration I have while stopping was normal...BS!

Might this issue have something to do with the mud flaps OR not... Maybe the flaps tighten things down there... NO flaps may mean the rattle.. I've got factory flaps...NO rattle...

Just a possibility... you got flaps Smitty..?
