My truck likes to twerk

So.......I just put some 5100's up through the front coils. Set the 5100's at the 1.75 setting. Took my truck to a local Goodyear shop and had them check/align everything back to spec because I was messing with the suspension. On my way home I noticed that the trucks rear end likes to bounce up and down. It's not violently doing it but definitely noticable. Only happens between the speeds of 50 and 55 mph. There aren't any steering vibrations at all from 0 to 75 mph. Just that weird bouncing up and down between 50 and 55 mph in the rear. As of right now I just have the 5100's up front and stock suspension in the back. Since the front now sits 1 inch higher in the front then the back would a 1 inch block or progressive AAL in the back fix this issue?

Looking for someone that's had a similar experience.

 

Sorry I'd also like to add that I now have Goodyear Wrangler Authorities on the truck now. They are 265 70 r17's.

 

one of the rear tires is not properly balanced.

 

Being higher in the front that in the back (the non-truck look) won't cause twerking. Adding a block or leaf to the rear won't fix anything. I'd take it back to the shop. Did they also install and balance those tires? Something's off. Tell them to fix it.

 

Thanks! I'll have them looked at. I purchased the 17 inch wheels that come on the Sport off of a guy I know. Had Walmart install the Authorities on the 17's. Then put them on my truck the same day I put the 5100's on which was about 2 weeks after Walmart put the tires on the wheels.

 

Yeah, I always change 2 or 3 things at the same time. It makes finding the new problems more interesting.

When I read the title I was hoping for some college girls on spring break shaking it in the bed of the truck but nope I got unbalanced tires....

Have the tires road force balanced. Toyota did all 4 of mine for $40. Got rid of my ko2's twerking.

 

I'm at my local tire shop right now to get them balanced. Guy came out and was like whoever mounted/balanced these tires put the weights all in the wrong spots. Thanks Walmart!

 

So not only were all 4 tires out of balance.....One of them were out of round. Deemed as a defective tire per McGee Tire. Took my truck back up to Walmart and they replaced the tire under the factory warranty.

 

Hell yes!

 

Update - I had the one tire replaced by Walmart and took it back up to McGee to have that one tire balanced. Leave the tire shop and the back end still bounces up and down between 50 and 55 mph. Took the truck back up to McGee and had them balance again. Leave and the truck still bounces up and down between 50 and 55 mph. I honestly don't know what to do at this point. McGee seems to balance them differently each time I go up there. Weights are being placed in different spots on the tires then they were before they were rebalanced again. I know because I've marked where the weight originally is before they move it. Does this mean McGee doesn't know what they are doing or does this mean that the tires are just defective. It's not like I'm putting a ton of miles on the between visits to McGee. I'm honestly debating on contacting Walmart and seeing if I can be refunded for the full amount of these tires because they are causing me such a pain in my arse!

 

What would y'all recommend? Do you think it could still be a balancing issue or tire issue or could it be something else?

 

Maybe they had in their head to replace the rear shocks and loosened the stem bolts. The shock's stem could be moving freely in the mounts. Reach under and see if you can shake either of the rear shocks.

So it's not the shocks. Took my truck back up to McGee and told the manager I wanted to watch all the tires turn on the balancer. They were all balanced correctly according to the machine. However.....1 of the 4 were out of round. Meaning when I had Walmart put them on 2 of the 4 were out of round. Took my truck back up to Walmart and had them replace the tire under the factory warranty. Truck rides perfect now!!

 

Not to mention in the midst of all this I met my wife at the Toyota dealer and added a new addition to the family. 2016 4Runner.

 

Jeez... sounds like a "stay away from GY Authorities" story. Great to hear the problem was found.
