Current things happening with the truck as of 04/13/2025:

Power rear slider out of a 2017 Tacoma. - in progress - still need to complete wiring for switch and motor.

4.30 gear swap using 3rd gen t4r rear elocker and 2017 Tacoma complete front clamshell - done and then had rear wheel bearing fail and allow a wheel and shaft to exit the party.

Rear disc brake axle from T4R/GX installed to replace factory drums and e-locker axle after wheel bearing incident.

rear axle needs came with 3.73 stock ratio and now I’m in search of a 4.30 3rd to match the front. Currently not too picky about reinstalling an elocker and just want the ratios the match so I can have 4wd again.

I've had Toyotas pretty much my whole life.

    Here's some previous rigs.

1983 long bed swapped to flat bed 22r 5spd on 35x14.5 pitbulls and welded rear.

Had many more but no pics.

Finally decided to step up to a Tacoma.

Been here a year now, decided it's time to document my tacos progress.

Bought it on Valentine's day in 2015. My gf said she wanted to spend the day together so with bank check in hand, we drove 4hrs one way to go look at a truck I had my eye on.

As I bought it: ARB front bumper with warn xd9000 winch and road armor rear bumper. Icon coil overs up front with block and AAL in the rear.

A few days later hit the local trails at Elbe.

Joined Tacoma world and met some locals. We hit a trail about an hour or so away. Then all hell broke loose.

The previous owner kept the stock UCA's and unbeknownst to me the upper BJ was maxed out. While we were on the trail, the BJ separated from the socket leaving me dead in the water. A few hours later and thanks to @dakotasyota and @northwesttaco , along with everyone else on the trail that day I had a replacement UCA and made it home that night. That prompted me to go home and order some Total Chaos uniball UCA's. Much better now.

Along the way I found the group buy section. Picked up a set of wet okole seat covers.

I also found the CVT group buy.

Installed a volant intake and some cheap ebay headers with volant exhaust.

    Next up was some sliders.

Along the way I managed to put my truck in the ditch off a logging road. Going too fast and came upon a 90° corner. Broke the LCA at the lower BJ. Thanks to @modsquad for the LCA's.

Recently I picked up some CBI ditch light brackets and some 5"x6" 9led pods, 9000 lumens a piece.

Installed some muth heated mirror with LED signals.

That's about it for now. I currently have a set of 700# coils waiting to be installed. Next mod will be the shackle flip kit and rear shocks.

I'll cut out another 6ft section for you to trim down. I should be around Saturday or Sunday depending if the woman and I go on a last minute camping trip or not.

I found them on eBay, and realized the guy lives local in issaquah. Msg'd him through eBay and went to his house the next day and bought them for less than he had them listed. He's mainly a Jeep guy but they are pretty generic and not Jeep specific.

    This is his website http://www.maximumjeep.com

And his vendor page on eBay http://stores.ebay.com/maximumjeep/

And the actual lights I bought from him. http://m.ebay.com/itm/272095515960?_mwBanner=1

I paid $150 for the pair. Not sure if that's a good deal or not but I'm happy with them. He even threw in the wiring harness for $150. I just need to swap the switch out for a left of steering switch that fits in the blank.

Thanks. I'm on the fence to get the RI ones but the cost is insane.

Got one hanger off. All I have is a battery op drill and it died while drilling out rivets. Those rivets are a pita.

I'm still recovering from this cold I've had for the past week but I can bring my snap-on drill home and a few batteries if ya need it. I got some killer cobalt bits that cut like butter.

That would help a lot for the other side. I'm about half way done with one side. Need to wrap it up this week since I won't have a work truck after Thursday.

Got one side done tonight. Should be able to get the other side done here in the next few days. @Usethe2nd gonna definitely need those drill bits. Broke my 1/2" bit drilling out the last hole in the frame. :bash:

Unfortunately I'm going to have to take it all apart again once it's installed when I have more time, to paint the frame and such to prevent rust. Trying to slap it together and be road worthy again.

Looks like I got at least an inch more out of this shackle kit.

Thanks again @ARCHIVE . Don't mind all the rust I still need to paint the work area. I was in a bit of a hurry to get my truck back on the road again. Will be pulling it apart to paint the area properly when I have more time. Install went without a hitch. I had to curse those damn rivets a few times, but otherwise straight forward.

Definitely got an inch in the rear with this kit in the forward position. Will pull measurements later today.

Previous measurements with just dakars and stock shackle location I was at 24 3/4" from center of wheel to the fender line. After the Archive garage shackle kit I'm sitting at 26". Gained 1 1/4" of lift.
