I have a 6" fabtech DB I'm running 33's and wanting to go to 35's so a re gear is definitely in our future if you go that high if you have the money get full length coilovers it will be worth it and I decided to upgrade my UCAs as well the stock one really limit any Tavel that's left so for the rear I'm in the process of removing the rear block the leafs sag bad with a fab fours bumper and camper shell I'm debating the all pro expedition pack or getting some Alcan springs made for the full lift traction bars would help with the axle wrap I was very impressed when I got mine installed well worth the money. If your gonna go as high as 6" don't cut corners and do it cheap then other things will fail shortly after

I would have to agree with Mully. I wouldn't put a drop bracket on a stock taco. I bought mine with it on before understanding everything. Its going to cost a few extra bucks to get it rounded out. 3" lift....I'd go with 33's personally....I'd re-gear last. 35's are way too much for stock gears, even with a 6 speed. Look at the OME (old man emu) lifts.....tons of people running a few inches with great results....

What brand of coilovers did you end up running? I'm planning a new leaf pack and possibly some Fox coil overs. Do you have any pictures? How did your ride improve?

I've emailed bill but still have not placed order on alcans and yes I do plan on new coil overs in front too whenever I get the time/money but still have a lot of research to do don't know if it's as simple as throwing in new shocks, looking at it I don't see why I will need to replace the vertical arms. I'll post good close up pictures tomorrow

I went with the fox with remote resi the ride is way better than stock ever was the fox coilovers are valves for out trucks and it gave way better handling all across the board. I would definitely run new UCAs if you plan on touching dirt at all. I will pos pics ASAP but the front coilovers are worth every penny in the ride in the front end that high

Thanks uncle D that makes me feel better. I've been on the phone with RC and although they have been very helpful and have said if I find any part that was perhaps defective they will gladly send me a replacement. I just can't seem to find anything that is out of whack. The guy who actually did the alignment told me there should be no serious issues it's barely off and the tire is riding flat. There is a place locally that does alignments old school and are very good and expensive I may try them before I go with new upper control arms that also have adjustments.

I'm very impressed with the Grapplers even for a 35" tire they ride very well on this small light truck.

I am quite surprised at the power my truck still has running 35's on stock gears. Only thing I have yet to figure out is how far off the speedo is. Seems to be around 5 mph.

Have the 3" lift on the truck. Going to trim, cmc, bfh, and jump up to 35s on that very truck. And will regear.

I would like to see how that comes out. I can't imagine how much you'll have to cut, trim & bang in to fit 35's.

I know I've read what is better just can't remember.
I have no plans to re-gear as of yet. I'll see how it goes for a while. I'm in south Florida so hills are not an issue.

4.56 for 35s, cut cab mount, trim finders, beat pinch weld seam over. Some are running 37s. If you really want to get at it, 40s.

Rides better than stock? That's what I'm going for! Haha I don't take mine anywhere too rugged yet mostly just for hunting but it's mainly a daily driver. What uca's did you get? my concern with new shocks/coilovers is that rough country spacers are truly 5.5" not 6 so I'm not sure of that half inch is going to mess with anything.

Still some educating I have to get done before taking the next steps

Some company builds them for extreme expeditions. The Tacoma is known to start when frozon. Google them, lots if info on how the lift and outfit them, there is also one with 6 wheels. Travels to the south pole and set some world record.

Yes., also one is a Tacoma, they show it with a SC on the motor and a bunch of other gizmos.

I'm having trouble passing an inspection in New Hampshire, I went for my free oil change at the dealership and made a bad mistake asking them for the state inspection while I was there. The new front cross member that comes with the kit is considered a modification and they failed me. I know some pretty sheisty garages but now that I'm in the system they can't pass me. I've talked to rough country and they had nothing for me. I was hoping they might have something in writing stating that the after market cross member is approved or something... Anyways my 2014 truck isn't street legal anymore and I'm up the creek. Has anyone gone through this or have any thoughts?
