2k deductible. Ouch. Everyone calls me crazy for having a 1k when they have 250-500

If it's truly only 10 minor dents than a good dent guy should charge you less than 200$ to repair it. I've see more people do more harm than good trying to diy.

Bummer! Claim it under your homeowners insurance and get a scooped hood. Wishful thinking. As stated, get a reputable ding/dent guy to look at it.

Sucks, but shouldn't be too expensive.

Before I became an auto claim rep, I used to carry Comp $500 and Collision $1000. I learned through handling thousands of claims, there are too many comp risks out of your control to carry more than Comp $200 or so. There are even a lot of Collision claims that are out of your control... word versus word lane changes or red lights with no witnesses, for instance. Now, I carry Comp $200 and Collision $500 and my premiums haven't changed much. Get some quotes with different deductibles and see what makes sense for you. But Comp $2000 is borderline insane.

That's not a homeowners claim, its a Comp claim under the auto policy.

As stated above, go find a good Paintless Dent Removal guy in your area, wont cost anywhere near as much as a shop will screw you for, maybe $250 max

I think some of you are giving the OP unreasonable expectations. It won't cost a lot but $250 for 10 PDR dent removals is not accurate. It's going cost considerable more than that. My guestimate would say around $1000.

Pics are a true story, a great deal of the cost is associated with where the dents are located... Hood = cheap. Roof = not cheap. PDR requires accessing underneath the sheetmetal and heating it, depending on where the shop has the access accounts for the labor involved in the repair.

Definitely check out lowering your comp deductible, it is a lot cheaper to lower comp than it is collision. Good luck, sorry to hear about the damage.

I carry higher deductibles $1000. Saves a lot on three vehicles. Probably a few thousand over the years,

Insure against catastrophe not inconvenience is a good rule. I have never needed my comprehensive or collision so I am ahead a lot of years. A $500 claim on a $200 deductible, will pay off for the insurance company when they raise the insurer's rates

:rofl:I'll be your dent guy anytime. 10 dime sized dents comes out to 165$ r&r on hood and nozzles probably 45$ depending on your areas hourly rate. It's rare for me to even remove a hood with 10 dime sized dents.

Mine got about 5 small hail dents on the roof last year. Don't even notice them anymore.

Dents bug the heck out of me on an nice truck. Found a dent on the hood while waxing that looked like a baseball or golf ball landed on it. Of course after I found it I could see it all the time. Took it to a PDR, who charge me $75 +tax. I'm sure someone will say how much I was over charged, but for that small amount on an otherwise new truck, it's worth it.

For 10 dents it might cost less than 10x what I was charged, but I would think it's more than $200.
