They denied me a loaner already! Starting to see my frustration?

 

Walk into Toyota of Dallas and let them know that they're all your bitches. That's what I finally had to do before they stopped trying to fuck me around. I even made the finance guy cry. It's one of my proudest moments.

 

Dude I wouldn't even be screwing with a dealer that does that. I'd call Corporate, file a complaint and take it somewhere else. I have been in that dealer before, it's a shit show. What part of town do you live in?

 

Just don't take it to Freeman Toyota.

 

If it was feasible or practical I'd say come on down to Austin and talk to AutoNation.

 

Wow. I've had good service at Dallas, Plano, and Grapevine. Dallas installed my lift and my supercharger.

 

I've had good luck with Toyota of Dallas as well. Alvin was the service writer I used that was recommended by the TRDparts4U guys.

 

Simon and Theodore do good work as well.

Dallas argued with me, then flat out told me I greased the truck myself. I denied it and he still gave me shit. A little later he came and apologized and told me it was a tech. It wasn't a shit show, just pissed me off a little. And they scratched the piss out of it during the wash. I've now told them to never wash it again. I spent 8 hours doing correction. I will call corporate. Thanks for the input gentleman. I didn't want to completely lose my shit after a couple weeks but I'm starting to get a little annoyed.

 

I have had great luck at Toyota of Grapevine and fort worth. Call ahead and tell the service manager about your frusterating experience at other dealers so they know to try a little harder with your truck. Sucks to get shitty service. Good luck.

 

Wait - they scratched your truck during the wash? That is where the bullshit would stop and somebody would be calling corporate for you. It sounds like they are doing everything they can to piss you off.

 

Monday I'm going to make a few phone calls to see if we can't get the ball rolling.

 

Do yourself a favor and start documenting each call/ email by time and who you talked to. Corporations do not like well documented consumer calls. Everyone can say they have called a hundred times - but the people who have a nice list of each call, who they talked to, and what the discussion entailed get their attention. Especially when you ask the person at the beginning of the call to spell their name for your records. It sets the tone of the conversation.

 

Subject change. Anybody have experience buying quality outdoor string lights? You know, the lights restaurants put over their patios. I want to buy some good ones that will handle TX weather.

 

Get the LED rope lights. They put off the right amount of light for night time, pretty weather resistant, and lower power draw.

 

But the bulbs look better to me. And they come in LED now. Example below.

Well if you're just going to argue.....


Bulbs have a tendency to swing in the wind and break. Rope lights can be more secured.

 

I have only dealt with the rope lights. Had some on the back patio for 3 years and no issues. The same strand got a new home under my bar and work great.

 

Lol! I agree with all of that, but I still like the bulbs. I'm sure the hail we had last week would have broken them. Probably run some galvanized wire to hang the strand.
