True bout the tent. Are you putting truck spare and jerry cans on the swing out? Or everything mounted on trailer, like extra fuel and water? A gallon of liquid is just over 8lbs. I'm starting to question how much my swing out can hold without issues. Want to swap out single Jerry can mount for double and add propane tank..

Nope all that extra crap is going on the trailer. The bumper will just have a spare tire and possibly a dual swing out for a cooler of some sort.

Nice. Keep up the good work! I think when I get around to a trailer build I'm going to keep the option to bring trailer on trip or not. I can't commit to always have trailer. I'll end up having dual 5 gal can on the truck for water, already have 8 gal fuel option and will do same on trailer.

I honestly just rock some 1 gallon water jugs that go under the platform. Never had the need for extra fuel. I can go 300 miles on a tank so.... I'm Not that gnarly I guess. The trailer won't come with me all the time for sure but it will be for longer trips where all that extra crap will be needed

Lol I don't consider myself that gnarly, just a little glamping when traveling with the wife. We're going to Maine for 5 days in June, so besides our new system of wash and dry kitchen ware trying to minimize garbage she's gonna want to shower during the trip to. The 5gal water cans are more washing water than drinking water. And fuel wise I'm not traveling into the desert here on the east coast, but with coming gas stations I like to pass them till need be, not fuel up every half a tank. It's really bout preparing for what's in front of you along with personal needs. Like I said, we are border line glamping when my wife comes so she's comfortable. If I go solo, I'll eat hot dogs on a stick over the fire and not shower all week lol

Hahahaha same here brother! I'm a sandwich meat, bagel, chips, and trail mix kinda guy. My wife pretty much doesn't camp so it's mostly just me and the pups. I may consider a fuel option once I get my trailer built out because I anticipate a decrease in fuel mileage a little (hope not to much) I also don't do the cooking thing when I'm camping. I don't like messing with cleaning dishes and pots and all that's stuff. I usually stick to dry food. I'm lazy I guess haha

    Need advise on two things.

    1) should I switch to the 886s once I get my bumper installed? My 887s seem to be sagging and with the addition of a bumper I'm going to be rocking some serious rake.

    2) what co2 air tanks are you guys running? I think it's time.

I plan on 886s once I get my winch. The aluminum bumper didn't cause any sag luckily.

I did a DIY CO2 tank setup. More in my thread.

Was it worth doing a DIY kit or are one of the smittybilt tanks pretty solid at $250

I was able to save between $50 and $100 with the DIY setup. It's worth it if that's what you are concerned with

No personal experience with Co2, but I know @ToyRyd04 and @cynicalrider have tanks and could supply some info of their setup

Got a 15lb Powertank, its great but spent way more then $250 on it.

I'd recommend looking into the InstantAirSupply brand, they've had a few sales on TW and seem to be a decent brand.

Did you have any problems when you had your RTT on the shell? I have been researching this set up and have seen people saying that it would be too much weight for the shell.
