Shows an approximate build time of 14 days - I plan on taking a day off of work and installing it and the Clazzio seat covers around April 9th if both are delivered by then! I will update and give a review of both once installed and tested.

I'm very seriously considering it. I really miss the system I had in my Tundra. It had a bit more kick with a 500W amp and a 12" Sub, but it also had a bigger cabin and more space to put it. I think the 8" will serve me just fine and the upgraded speakers would be great. Especially in the back since there's a tweeter on the 6.5's they put in.

I'll just have a local installer do it though since I really don't feel like spending a whole day figuring it out and I don't have that much experience. Plus I hate trim panels. Though it looks way easier to get to the Tacoma's HU vs the Tundra where you had to disassemble just about everything to get to it.

It's a good chunk of change, but my birthday is tomorrow, so gift to myself right? :)

Because the 6MT doesn't offer JBL, I'm interested in this.

Nice kit! I am wondering what they can do about a sub for an access cab. I would love to upgrade with a set up like that, but I don't see an access cab subwoofer on their website.

Arrived yesterday via UPS and packaging was in great shape. They are sending me a new bracket for the DSP Amp as it needs to be slotted to accept the OEM wiring connector under the seat; the one that arrived was not. Great customer service as they are overnighting a replacement.
However, I went ahead and installed the door speakers and tweeters for now. Took about 1.5 hours taking my time. With a new truck, I didn't want to damage the door panels. Just the speaker upgrade alone, driven by factory head unit, netted some nice improvements in sound. Mids and highs are crisper and a little more punch down low. I am amazed how light and low-tech the factory speakers are.

Will be a few more days until I can install the Amp and sub, but I am looking forward to the additional improvements.

I'm having a daily struggle with myself to try to hold out on ordering this system.

I'm really anxious to hear some more reviews.

Interesting using 2 ohm speakers and high sensitivity.. this will make the system sound "louder"

This was me last week. I finally caved and ordered it, haha. $1,500 isn't exactly change for me, but I plan on having this truck for a long time so why the heck not? I just get to enjoy the improved sound system longer than if I wait :)

All the posts about this system in the FRS/BRZ/TC look very positive for what it's worth. I'm sure the Taco will be the same. Now to see how long it takes to get here.

I just ordered the jl stealth sub with the 10 inch tw3 sub. I also ordered a jl cleansweep equalizer. 700 watt jl amp. C3 front speakers and c2 rear speakers. I am curious as to how it will sound in comparison to the 450q system.

The 10 inch JBL Rocks loudest hardest hitting subwoofer I have ever heard. The shop that did the work said they had to mess with behind the seat to get it to fit contrary to what JL said.

The difficult part is tuning it properly. Spend some time researching how to do this though and it's not too bad. I'm sure there are probably some phone apps to help analyze sound quality too (I haven't looked into it, but would make sense), and that can help you determine what needs to be tuned. Once you get it tuned properly, assuming you built a good box for that sub, you'll have something that sounds better than the OEM Audio stuff. The nice thing about the OEM Audio is that it does sound great, and it is a drop in package. No tuning, no building, just plug and play. Tuning is where all the secret is, and they've already taken that mystery out of the equation, which is probably what I think is most appealing to a lot of people who don't have experience with this stuff. I think their price is fair also, given the complete package and quality of the components. At the end of the day either way you get a great sounding setup, but some people do enjoy building stuff themselves and tweaking things to sound just the way they like it ... unfortunately a lot of people think they know what sounds good, don't spend much time researching how to tune properly, and just end up with something that sounds like shit and cost a lot of $. Just don't be one of them :)

Definitely working on the tuning part. I got a JL cleansweep to clean up the factory head unit sound and use an equalizer. I think it sounds pretty good matched with the C2 and C3 speakers. I'm toying with adding a 8 inch JL micro sub behind the driver back seat. I hear those things rock.
