I have Volant CAI with air scoop, Flowmaster dual exhaust and topped off with a Unichip mapped for these mods.. I like it..

Both are a waste of money and have no performance gain at all on stock truck. Save up for better suspension and tires. If you actually plan on using it as a 4x4, just simply cut the exhaust at the axle and be done with it, rather than making it sound like crap.

Or just do what you want because it's your truck. And $300 exhaust isn't going to break your savings for a better suspension because there happens to be a few bit of options from assembled to DIY suspension kits. :notsure:

I have the same modes on my 2013 DCSB, with the exception of the Unichip. I have been considering purchasing the Unichip, I have done a lot of reading and reseach but I haven't heard anyone's input about it. Question for you, The Unichip that you have for your truck, is it just the Unichip pre mapped from the manufacturer for your modes, then plug and play. OR, are you doing the mapping yourself with a separate devise used to change the mapping. I am computer savvy so I could program the maps myself, but I don't drive the truck enough to mess around with it, nor do I really want to. I just want to plug and go. I program Diesel engines all day, I don't want to do it at home on my truck. Just wondering if it is worth it as a pre-mapped plug and play devise. If yours is plug and play, pre-mapped do you noticed much of a difference.

    Thanks

I went ahead and ordered the flow master super 44 dual exhaust.. I will be doing a review video on it but from what I read it's a great sounding exhaust.... I was looking at a k&n cold air intake ? What's your opinion on that ?

Premapped by unichip for the volant and exhaust. I notice quicker acceleration through out the band and response. I run the 93 octane mode consistently.

Sounds like I need to add this mode to my todo list...I am essential looking into the unichip because I tow a 5000# camper and was looking to increase acceleration and overall power, just wasn't sure how well tuned the unichip came from the manufacturer. sounds like this is what i'm looking for, now I just need to save$$$. Thanks for your input, much appreciated

I hear good things about it but I definitely hear it doesn't increase mpg if that's one of your focus points. I got to talking with my uncle who has built everything from AMX's to Dually Deisels. Basically your exhaust helps your engine in more positive ways than an intake would plus intakes can let more dirt particals into your system than your OEM intake..especially if it's your DD

    STOCK on both.

You will gain NOTHING but an emptier wallet with an aftermarket CAI and cat back exhaust.

So it not worth it to get the intake ? Have you seen the Trd intake they have? It's a bit pricy but it doesn't look like the air filter is out in the open so it would be harder for dirt to even get inside

OP, it's your dough, spend it any way you want! Or, you can join the TW herd that "wastes" their money on other stuff they all agree on. You may not get a performance increase by changing the exhaust or intake, but, if that's what you want, who cares, get it. Also, if you actually plan on using it as a 4x4, it will work just fine with a stock exhaust system or a crappy one. In the end, it's your truck. Mod it anyway you want. Why would anyone mod their vehicle based on a consensus opinion of a forum?? LOL

My plan was to just get the intake and exhaust without flashing the computer? Just so my truck can sound nice and breathe better. Pros and cons ?? Or would it be worth it to get the ecu flashed

    I didn't get mine flashed.

I personally wasn't going to buy an intake or exhaust, but my dad bought me a TRD intake for Christmas or my birthday I can't remember. So I put it on. I kept hearing it inside my truck so I just put a magnaflow 6" round x 18" body muffler in by cutting the stock one out and welding the new one in. I just put the muffler since I knew there wasn't really a difference in HP even with a catback system. It's more for sound and it makes your Tacoma sound like a Tacoma lol.

Do what ever you want it's your truck and your money.
