I decided on 35x10.50R16 Super Swamper Radials, and should have some more FJ80 pr0n for you in a week or so.

If you like the 80's, you should look into the 60's. I've wanted to bring one up from Australia for awhile now.

I fell into a vicious cycle a few years back ended up having 5 vehicles and only me driving them... I vowed not to have more than 2 autos anymore. I have seen some sweet 4runners and FJ's up for sale that I have had to pass on. I love my Tacoma, I would have to get rid of my 944 in order to get another vehicle. It might be worth it down the road. Until then the internet allows me to drool over other peoples!

There are a couple of companies that regularly import them. http://www.landcruisersdirect.com/cars/

It is hard having a bunch of rigs. I have three 4WD rigs, but they all serve a different purpose. My problem is if I had any more I wouldn't have time to do the maintenance on them all. It seems like one of the three is always due for an oil change or has some issue.

I begrudgingly sold my 964 RS America two years ago as my health started to deteriorate and I knew that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it appropriately anymore.

I want to replace the 2009 4Runner that a drunk totaled for me with another 4Runner but now I'm thinking about getting a 70 series to tinker with.

Nice. Does that jerry can holder unbolt or is it welded on?

Land Cruisers Direct is actually not too far away from where I live right now and was recently tempted to go down there with @ChandlerDOOM to look at a Troopy that they had. When I made up my mind to do it I checked their site to find that it had recently been sold. Broke my heart but temporarily saved my wallet. I just ordered a new 4Runner for my wife which will get a little massaging to increase its utility. Once that gets sorted and the Tacoma is setup the way I want it then I will seriously revisit either another 4th gen 4Runner or importing a 60 or 70 series.

I make enough money to afford any new rig I want, and I drive around a 25 year old FJ80. :D The new ones just don't have any soul. Sure, they may be lacking in the power department by modern standards, but they get around all right. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow. :burnrubber: I'm just going to keep fixing and building this thing into my vision of perfection.

^You mentioned this to me when I first bought my cruise. I have had the FJ80 for about a month now and gotta say its a blast to drive. I don't really think about the speed I am going (similar to my reg cab taco). It has a certain feel to it you can't explain. Even the girlfriend agrees. Smooth but massive. Gonna be hard to sell it if I do.

Added a bit to the camp kitchen. A few tools, a new cutting board, and a Dutch Oven cookbook. Nothing too crazy.

I have a feeling it will grow on you. I'm always most impressed with them after a weekend of hard wheelin', hundreds of miles of rough roads, then you turn on to the highway and it still steers straight, no weird noises, leaks, etc. Like nothing ever happened, and she's ready for more the next weekend. I know that no matter how cold it gets, it will start right up, and always gets me home. They might be "boring" but they sure are reliable.

I had the aero press first . What I didn't like about it was that it always left some grounds in my cup. Maybe I just don't have the knack for it ?
I now use a Starbucks funnel that uses a paper filter and fits on top of and drains into my cup. I also have a manual grinder for whole beans.

Any tips on the aero ?

Not a coffee drinker myself but my wife brings these with her when we camp.

To boil her water she uses a Kelly Kettle that I gave her as a gift a few years ago. She usually just sets it on the grill that we use for cooking but sometimes will use the included base and some small tinder as they intended it to be used.
