    Hello Tacomaworld,

I am new to this forums and have a question. I recently installed a back up camera in my 2006 Tacoma and had to remove the lower dash from the driver side and noticed this blue connector that is not connected to anything. Does anyone know what this Blue connector is for and what does it do?

Any Info will be helpful. thanks.

Just looks like a prewired connector that popped out the back of a switch blank to me. Do you have any switch blanks on the left side of the dash?

If you get to poking around, these trucks have MANY connectors that are not used. They use the same harness when built for different options, so there are a lot of unused connectors depending on options.

I'm not discounting that but it looks like the same shit in this guys post:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/id-this-green-wire-harness-for-me-answer-found-thanks.419718/

Albeit OPs is blue. I tore my dash down the other week, I remember green, black and a white connector up on the top stack. I'm pretty sure a blue one resides in the lower row of 3 but I could be mistaken.

Looks like a packard connector which toyota does use some of. But hey, I'm guessing "afaik" is some fancy abbreviation for you know all and everyone else is wrong? Just another TW thread that will turn into a troll fest of arguments. Maybe it looks chewed up because the Op keeps fucking with it? If everything works, don't screw with it.

ok then it might be stock, though chewed

add up all the possible stock buttons on a taco where that wire could reach

    (rr diff lock, inverter, trac/vsc...etc)

subtract what feature you don't have. it is probably that connector. a feature you ain't got
