The popular "grey wire mod" allows you to use the TRD locker at any time, not just in 4lo like it is made to from the factory. Its a real simple mod from what Ive read.

I dislike the black Tupperware fenders in all colors EXCEPT for the the quicksand. The quicksand color needs that breakup color.

Only the 3rd gen OR has Bilstien shocks. All the rest get cheapo shocks. You should try airing down when off roading, it really helps the ride.

You didn't look the vehicle over or test drive before signing and paying for the vehicle?

Manual tranny in an access cab. If they offered the off road that way I would have done it. I could care less about the scoop although it does "look" good and I prefer the black fender flares and locker but that's simple enough to fix.

Simple perhaps just not inexpensive to add a locker.

Easily a 1000$ ahead buying the stick shift. Just food for thought. My 03 still has a locker, and a winch. Good enough for me.

No, they don't. The SR, SR5 and Limited share the same suspension. The TRD models each have a different suspension. This is specifically stated in the 2016 brochure, the TRD Sport is the only model with the "sport tuned shocks."

The Sport has Hitachi shocks, the Off Road have Bilsteins and the SR, SR5 and Limited have the black KYBs.

I'm assuming the valving and ride quality. The Hitchachis are blue and ride stiffer than the black KYBs that are softer.

At least this doesn't look cheap like the unfinished TRD Off Road

Because the sport looks much cooler, IMO. So it came down to looks vs a crawl control feature I'll never use. Easy choice.

Painting fender flares and a fake hood scoop mod is a hell of a lot cheaper than adding diff lockers, MTS, electronic brake booster among other items. Yet you pay about the same for a sport. Just proves logic and common sense doesn't factor with most. The math doesn't check out on the price for a sport but enjoy it anyway
