@Sandman614 those lakes up around Raleigh with camping, are they first come first serve, or reserve spots? Taking the family next month somewhere for there first trip, start somewhere easy for them.

You can reserve a spot or just show up and a ranger will come around. If it's a popular getaway weekend (holiday) I'd reserve one. Jordan Lake and Falls Lake are both nice. There is Harris Lake but you might leave glowing (power plant lake)

if you want a spot with a water view or water access, you need to reserve 6 months ago.
EDIT: LOOP E Poplar Point at Jordan Lake is walk up only, no reservation, good for the last minute camping trip. reservations need to be made 2 days in advance on the rest of the sites,

    http://www.ncparks.gov

pick your park and you can view most sites ahead of time before reserving.

the "pick your spot and wait for the ranger" only happens in the off season, in season you won't get thru the gate without paying a day fee ($6 per vehicle) or camping fee ($25 for a power/water site )

What would y'all recommend to reattach the 'braces' inside the tailgate, they're held down with some glue? By buddy said automotive seam sealer.

seam sealer is too elastic and doesn't dry quick enough to be useful

panel bonding adhesive, it ain't cheap, but it works really well, scuff the area, mix the epoxy and stick it, if done well, it won't come apart. ( the stuff Toyota used wasn't up for the job in the location it was used )

best bet, WELD IT but then ya gotta paint and all that.

I doubt I'll have it all figured out by then...but soon after. I'll be on stock wheels/tires for a bit as well.

    I have a welder and I ain't afraid to use it.:welder:
